Couple days ago I had been hunting hornets and thief bug eggs just out the west gate of Prontera, now I went out there and got gobbled by some high level venus fly trap thing. Suddenly it seems it is a much higher level field.

Is this temporary or an event or something?

No, it's random people spamming Dead Branches.

If you have a high level friend, you can always ask him to try to kill it.

If I'm sure... The name of this monster is Muscipular. One plant with one-cell range, so just stay away and you will be fine.

Prontera field 5 on Ymir, field just west of Prontera. But if they are avoidable it may not be a big deal...I actually didn't make it far enough from the gate to see if the normal level critters were still around too, while I was standing around wondering, it hopped up and got me. I'll have to give it another look.

I saw the patching activity when I launched RO and thought maybe it had been converted to a less noob oriented zone and I was just unaware, so I asked. Thanks for the info! I'll give it another shot. Been doing the Eden group 11-25 generic quests and was happy to find thief bug eggs that weren't in the slightly tougher sounding sewers. Casual player, slow leveller, just started. Well, started 2nd time in a row, started, got VIP and restarted on Ymir.
