Odd in my several tests of opening 30 at a time I was getting the buff scroll box ~ 10 or less each time. .. I'll open some more now.

I would have been happy if I had that kind of results.

$50 got me:

9x Buff Scrolls (My first pack was purely buff scrolls, I thought there was some kind of bug in the maintenance patch...)

I am not a happy camper after getting these kinds of results... especially since the boxes are more expensive than the previous event. I'll probably pass on buying anymore boxes at this point.

I think I will pass on the Buff Scroll Box Event. $5 is too much for buff scrolls. The hike in box price would be justified if the headgears were the primary drop, however they are not. Class D item (most likely item) should still have a close to value to items that can be obtained in Kafra shop directly for the amount of KP gambled. Even with the pack being doubled it still just seems >.> way short of what you could do otherwise with 500 KP.

Then let's discuss waiting for a boxter lol. Everyone knows that boxter gives you a box for what's most times 2x or 3x worth of bad box items. I wouldn't trade you 3x buff scroll packs for 40-50% chance of another buff scroll box at a bigger loss.

I would suggest you change the box but then that will make too many people complain that they got screwed buying the boxes in the beginning. Just consider this box event a valuable lesson learned and let's not repeat this.

Onto a positive suggestion. Allow people to exchange these buff packs for 2 BB from some NPC.

It is too late to change the box items, but it *isn't* too late to fix it on the boxter.

I.E.

Double buff scroll pack is worth 600 points by the usual boxter standards. Boost that up to 750, so that you can trade in 4 buff scrolls for 3 more boxes. It'll mean a few more recycles before you cycle out all your buff scrolls-- at the extreme rate of their drop, the extra cycles would be necessary and probably resolve out to what the original reward-rate for X amount of boxes should have been.

I.E. Instead of 10 Buff Scrolls -> 6 boxes -> 5 buff scrolls 1 diadem -> 3 boxes -> 3 Buff scrolls -> 1 box -> 1 Job Card Album
Total Reward: 1 Job Card for $50


It could be 10 Buff Scrolls -> 7 boxes + 500 points -> 5 Buff Scrolls, Diadem, Manual ->4 Boxes + 750 Points -> 2 Buff Scrolls, Diadem, Job class card -> 2 Boxes + 500 points = KVM + Buff Scroll -> 1 more box = Hugel Prize Medals
Total Reward: 7 3X manuals, 1 Job Card, 800 KVM, 2k Prize medals for $50

I used rate samples posted within this thread, not just willy-nilly guesses.

Likely the number of brownie points needed will be 1700 for 1 Anniversary Box

The party scrolls will be worth their normal amount so turning in ~ 2 Boxes worth will get you 1 additional box, ditto for the cancerous items being 2:1 ratio.

This means that even if 40% (which it shouldn't be that high in reality) is party buffs with another 20% being one of the Cancers you could open 10 boxes and immediately turnin to recycler to get 3 more boxes. Considering you should only be paying 400pt per Box (from using the crates) that will increase the rate of getting the headgears up to ~ 20% per 10 boxes of getting 1 of those hats plus getting the other nice things too as bonuse. That is very close to the cost we would have to charge for those hats if we offered in the Kafra shop directly (non-tradable if sold in the Kafra shop).

When we calculate the value of items in by cost of the box and the probability of acquiring each item, you always win in the KP : Price ratio that is by design and the Boxter swings that ratio further into the buyers favor. We do it that way so no one has the heart break and following rage for spending $3 usd and getting Hat[0] as a white elephant prize, instead you spend $3 you get something that no matter what we value at $3 or higher (always higher).

I'm actually very interested in the logic behind it. I'm sure other players interested in the mathematics, mechanics, and statistics of things will be interested as well.

I would very much have preferred the SAB grouping. I would have gotten 3 likable items for 3600 KP instead of 10 F-Class items for 4,000 KP as my result was in opening two crates. May well have been just bad luck-- but that's relevant to the valuation also. I'd sooner pay a similar amount for 3 boxes of items I know I'd appreciate than 10 items with a very high chance that most of them are fodder.

You say the buff scrolls will be worth their normal amount? The regular buff scroll packs were 300p, a double pack would be 600p. If the trade-in rate is 1700 (This seems a lot bit steep..), how do you figure ~2 boxes per trade-in? That's 2.84 boxes, or 51 packs per 18 lucky boxes.

Honestly forget the boxster. I'd rather be able to trade up x2 boxes for one of the other C rank items or kvms/etc. instead of opening up 4 new boxes to get 2-3 more scrolls to get one box with another scroll >.>;

So here is what I purpose:

Instead of the traditional boxter, you would be allowed to change any D class x2 for a C Class and any 3 C class for a B and any 4 A class for a S and so fourth. Or something along that line. The only reason I even suggest this, is that the boxes are at 400 or 500 KP each. Which is way above the norm. For that amount of KP I'd like some choice in what I got after buying X boxes.
