Like I said... Will battle manuals work for exp quests?

I'm doing the one new world quest that awards over 5 mill exp. If I used a battle manual that for example increase exp to 200% will it double the exp I get for completing the quest?

And another question.

Say I get so much exp that I can gain as many as 4 levels. Will it allow me to gain that many at once?

i will confirm the answer. no, manuals only work on exp from monsters.

yea the manual will work, I've gained 16mil using 3x BM, but u cannot gain more than 2 levels at once. Unless the experience is given in parts such as the Second Seal, but in this case it comes as one bulk of experience so I would gain another level if I were in your situation to make the best of it.

I'm thinking of just nearly finishing the quest and getting 99 on my own. Then when I trans and get my creator to 96 and then finally completing the quest with a battle manual X3 is use. Would that work even though I went trans? The quest won't reset or anything I hope.


Also is there anyone to confirm whether it's 2 or 3 levels you can gain at one time? I need to be 100% sure so I know when exactly to complete the quest.

you can wait until trans, the quest won't reset or anything so it's really up to you when you want to use it.

I don't think the exp for that particular quest was broken into chunks (if my memory is correct anyway), so you would be limited to at most one level up, then get close to the next level. It would probably be better to hang onto the reward until later, especially if you're using a nice BM for it.

Edit: I just checked my screenshot from the last time I did the quest (April though; I don't know if the reward has been updated since then) and the exp was given all in one chunk, yes.

Battle manuals (all different types of them) work with quest rewards experience. They increase all experience received by the character. However, experience increasing gears (ex. red bandana) only increase experience gained from killing monsters.

You can only get ONE level up from any single burst of experience. The remaining experience is placed into the next level up to 95~96% anything greater than that is lost to the void. Several quests have had their experience rewards broken into pieces to allow maximum leveling through single bursts of xp.

Previous TI quests would give the xp in sets of 100 cts or smallest ct x whatever option you took to maximize the leveling potential. However, that has since changed.

Yea get to 96, and since the quest doesn't give any job experience, my opinion is that you use the quest to get to 99 and Trans already . Once you are trans it doesn't matter when you get to 99 because your job levels will lag behind, so might as well get pre-trans out of the way as fast as possible.

The most exp you can get in one shot is the amount needed to fill your current level bar twice, which is usually 1.8-1.9 levels.

SOME quests deliver the exp in multiple chunks and thus bypass this limit (the seals and the VIP dungeon for instance), but I don't think this one does.

Alright thanks everyone for clearing that up. I might just wait till I need a crap ton of exp for just one level though. I don't wanna waist a good exp quest like this.
