I was wondering does Pinpoint Attack (lvls 2-5) have the same affect vs monsters as Divest does for Rogue Classes? Also would it work on Bosses like Divest does?

For example when used on Monsters;

Divest Weapon - lowers attack by 25%
Divest Armor - lowers Vit by 40%
Divest Shield - lowers Hard Def by 15%
Divest Helmet - lowers Int by 40%

I was wondering if Pinpoint has this affect on monsters as well or if it's just a Snap attack basically with no other purpose in PvM. This way I know whether to spend more than the 1 point in it or more. Lowering a Bosses Vit/Int/Def and Atk would just be sweet and good reason to get.

It's basically a snap attack that deals a lot of damage. No point in using this skill in pvm at any other level than the max you have it. It has a large cooldown, so using pinpoint first and then following it up with an OB or VP does the trick for most monsters. Royal Guards are overpowered anyways, so using this skill as a disabler is pointless as you will one shot or destroy anything in a few hits.

edit: you're going to want to max this skill, no doubt. But save that for later job levels, as getting overbrand maxed and shield spell lvl 1 are top priorities at lower job levels.

Huh it says the "snap" affect is disabled in WoE maps so maybe this isn't for me as it would only be good in PvP really.

Ah well to bad about no use in PVM really or MvP.

EDIT: Also I figure instead of PPoint to use Banishing Point since I already have the 10 points in Bash. I mean at lvl 5 (Pre req for OB) it does 250% + 300% from maxed Bash AND has a 7 Cell Range.

You'll want pinpoint maxed eventually. Even if you don't like its other aspects, it deals massive damage to single targets and I found it to be very useful in PVM. It's VERY useful for high flee monsters you can't hit with your other skills, because it never misses. Shield press to stun, if it doesn't proc spam pinpoint in the meantime, then go back to shield press to try and stun.

Yeah I see what you mean about Massive damage. I don't know why they misquoted the damage that this thing does. I used this skill to finish up my Ice Titan and Gazzi 400 hunt and I must say that even on level 1 it 1 hit ko'd gazzi's.

My Equips

+4 Tripple Saharic Zephyrus (+60% vs Water Element)
+7 Aqua Crown
+4 Wild Cat Pantie (+25 ATK, -5 Def)
+4 Mocking Undershirt (+20 Flee)
+4 Shackles
Bloodied Shackle Ball (+50 Atk w/shackles)

My Normal attack on gazzi did around 1k damage, with lvl 5 VP (or BP) i did just over 6k. However with level 1 Pinpoint I did just over 14k damage.

My Agi is at 100 Base.

This leads me to believe that this attack actually does 1000% damage at level one which is 10* more than it says. Plus the Critical Bonus of 1.4%.

Only bad thing is the cool down sadly.

Couple questions I would like to know. Does the distance of the SNAP effect increase with levels? (at level 1 it only snaps like 5 cells I would say max). Also does the Cool Down go down with more levels?
