Me and my friend have been leveling up in a party together since our first jobs and even into our second jobs this constantly happens.(I an alcoolyte/priest and he a swordsman/knight)
I set the party experience to even share and if we walk through a couple of maps some how it gets changed to each take. Me being a priest this sucks because it takes a while to even notice this has happened(pretty much see him level up and my exp hasn't even moved).

Another bug is while on even share sometimes some monsters give one person like 90% of the exp and the other 10%. We've had this happen many times, monsters I can remember is the thief bugs and argiopes. It is usually he that gets the larger chunk of exp but when we were fighting argiopes I got like 1400 job and he would get like 400 (I think this was in the double exp event also encase you want to say they don't give that much)

The last bug is that EXP is never really even share. I'm pretty sure that it should be we should get the same exact amount of exp but we don't the numbers are never the same and he usually always gets more. The only time that it has ever been the same is fighting floras. And it's really weird that the experience sharing changes between different monsters.

This is on the newer server I think its called Yggs something. The one that doesn't have 4,000 players.

Atm it is normal for "party share setting" getting change to each take each time Ur party change map.

for # 2 reason y both of u are receiving different exp is because experience including drops are influenced by the difference in base level between you and the monster. For example, if you are killing a monster 10 levels higher than you, you would receive 140% experience and 100% drops. and IF party is killing a monster 14 levels higher than you, you would receive 40% experience due to level penalty, as can be seen here in Doddler chart in Experience and Drop Adjustment

1) This is normal behavior. I forget what the exact qualifier is, but it's either when one specific party member (either leader, or any leader) is offline, or when all members are offline, it resets to each take. Players are considered offline while changing map servers, which is why this happens when walking between maps.

2) The exp split is BEFORE the level-based EXP modifier, and before the effects of battle manuals or other EXP-increasing effects. So it's quite easy to get different amounts of exp when the exp is being shared evenly. http://irowiki.org/wiki/EXP

Ahh okay I see. But what about the 3rd one where the exp is a very extreme difference? This causes us to have to stop fighting that monster and try and find something else.

As i described, if the levels of the party members are different, it is possible for one monster to give dramatically different exp.

Ex, if one player is 15 levels lower than the monster, they'll get 115% exp. If they're partying someone who's one level lower (16 levels) they'll get only 40% (on the blatantly ridiculous assumption that the player can't possibly be killing through legitimate means). This would result in one player getting almost 3x as much exp as the other. The solution is to fight monsters in the appropriate level range for your characters.

If this isn't what you're referring to please clarify.

No, I'm not talking about that because we are only 2 levels apart. And were at the same level in some instances such as when we were fighting thief bugs.

If you both do damage to a monster, then the game calculates the exp separately for each player, splits it, and prints out two sets of exp numbers for each kill. If the exp from the characters prints out in different order on the two characters for some reason, it may look like one character is getting more exp than the other.

No, it's not that either I see that that happens. I will have to take a couple of screen shots next time it happens.

Please ensure that experience is set to even share, and when this issue manifests, post:

Level of each character (base level), as well as whether they are using BM, are VIP, are wearing exp-effecting gear, etc.
Exp received by each character.
Monster killed.
