I'm having problems after browsing through the forums without finding the answers I need I decided to make a thread, My client patches fine but when I press start it does nothing. I have tried reinstalling, Repairing, troubleshooting, and changing the compatibility of the rag.exe and still no results. I tried to download the client through IE and Firefox still the same. I downloaded the client via the official website btw. anyone has an idea why this is happening or if anyone has a solution to it?

P.S. As a returning player this problem is kinda annoying and might discourage others from trying or returning to the game all together imo.

Im running win7 64bit and yes i tried the win 7 thread one too.

try using this and see if it runs, just go start->run or windows key + R

"C:\Program Files\Gravity\Ragnarok Online Renewal\Ragexe.exe" -1rag1


might have to adjust the path to fit whatever yours is.

Yeah you need the quotes on it, hmm thats odd that should have worked. I wonder if this is a win 7 64 bit version problem, not saying it is but i've seen screwy things happen with that Program Files (x86) directory. If I can indulge your patience can you try installing it outside of that in like C:\Gravity\ or something just to eliminate that possibility?

I tried and re-installed it in a different path and tried to do the string you gave me, sadly still nothing :\

Have you tried, setting to always run as admin for Ragnarok.exe and Ragexe.exe or Disabling UAC.

so I finally got a hold of the iro wiki .exe installer and still the same issue. Help really interested in playing

This is a laptop, right? judging from the graphics card model... What brand of laptop? What version of windows 7?

I'm trying to see if there's any correlation - Every few months, I see a poster with this problem, but we don't really know much about this issue.

So it worked pre-renewal? That's strange...

Have you tried running as admin? have you tried turning off UAC (turn it back on if it doesn't fix the problem)? Have you tried animal sacrifice?

Yeah sorry I've never seen a problem that persistent. Have you tried posting you problem over at the iRO Wiki Forums? Someone else might have had this and knows how to get you in the right direction. Post it in the Tech Help & RO Support forum. Might include a link to this topic to get the simple answers out of the way.
