I'm currently downloading the game to play for the first time. I like to play alone most of the time, is there any class that's good for that? I think I want to end up as a wanderer, but they look like a support type. Any suggestions?

I'd say AGI Spear Crusaders / Paladins / Royal Guards are good. I solo'd mine completely and it only took a couple weeks' time of actually playing ( I don't play much and I take a lot of breaks when I level, so I tend to time myself on hours played rather than days ) to get her to 102/8.

Although, I've been leveling my Dancer recently, and she's been very fast with leveling. Dancers ( and Gypsies and Wanderers, just going with the 2-2 non-trans here... ) can be support or non. Mine's not very good with supporting. :< But she can do more damage than my boyfriend's Maestro. lol.

Some other classes I'd recommend, because I'm quite a soloer myself, are Hunters, Assassins, Rouges, Knights, Monks, or maybe even Wizards or Sages, depending on their builds ( battle, or caster with high vit, and highsight, preferably with a linker, respectfully ). Soul Linkers can also be pretty good for soloing, depending on it's build ( esma and battle are pretty good soloers, imo ). I guess Alchemists and Blacksmiths are good soloers too, because they have the skills that allow them to do it. I think pretty much any class other than Priest ( although, I solo'd my AB for most of her levels ) can be solo'd fairly well if you learn how to play it. Even Priests, if you go battle, ME, or TU, can be used to solo.

I hope this helps some. :>

Thank you so much for your reply! I guess I need to do some more research. I've still got over an hour before my client finishes, so I've got plenty of time. =P
I think I want to go dancer if it's possible to solo with them. Who knows, maybe I'll start partying up after trying one. =3

It's very possible to solo with Dancers! I really enjoy playing mine, because she can solo. :>

If you play Ymir, I can show you my Dancer sometime, if you'd like to see one solo fairly well.

Keep in mind you will only be able to make a Dancer type character if your "acct" Gender is set to female. Otherwise you will be stuck going Bard.

Archer is the only class where Gender plays a role in the type of character you will become. Males have togo the Bard > Minstrel > Maestro path and Females the Dancer > Gypsy > Wanderer.

Or they could both go the Hunter > Sniper > Ranger path.

Keep in mind as well that playing solo will usually be a bit more expensive because you will have to buy Potions without someone to heal and buff you often.

Also since you are just getting started you may want to start up a Merchant as well. You will need this eventually anyway since Merchants have a Discount skill that gives you 24% off of any NPC sold items and can also sell items back to NPC's at higher prices with OverCharge. Merchants do NOT have to go that high to be useful. you could even stop them at say level 30ish. Keep in mind you may also want to create a 2nd account for your merchant.

Thank you, EvilLoynis, I already had my account set to female. =] I'll definitely start a merchant too to fund myself.
I'm going out to buy a game card today so I can play on Ymir. I'd love to see your dancer sometime, Kagrra.

When you get on, you can just try to PM Kagrra or Sinfonia; those are the two I'm leveling now, so I'll most likely be on them.
But you might not catch me on too often. :< I'm out of town and the internet connection here really sucks.

One of the best solo classes ( once you trans ) is Scholar. They basically never need to touch a sp pot , and if you don't mob crazy a heal clip can set you up for you hp pot needs.
