lol seriously though, what's the deal with these silly rep wars going on? I think it's mainly supposed to be used for agreeing disagreeing with a point of view being posted at the time. Not to gang up b/c you don't like someone in general etc. I like to think I use my neg's responsibly but some people seem to be a on rampage with wars vs others.

Why can't we all just get along?

But haha, in this community, unlimited negatives reps is kind of crazy. At least being limited to one per day, you save that red for something... special.

Not like the reputation things mean anything though. Although the recipe for accumulating rep points is fairly easy, just jump on the bandwagon and QQ about stuff that puts the game in easy mode. (pretty sure this post will hit negative rep cause I exposed a dark secret)

I rest my case, I meant the negative part of the system, I've seen some users voted down and the numbers don't add up so either its a database error or someone is voting down twice and its bugged.

Honestly I don't even think of negative rep'ing people that I disagree with, they're entitled to their opinion. I only ever used it (sparingly I might add) when the person was being... lets go with difficult.

It used to only be 1 negative rep a day. I'm not sure when they changed it.

The reputation system isn't perfect, but at least works to know if people agree or disagree with some post instead of posting a quote and say "+1".

It is an okish measure to know if people agree with someone a lot or not, but has no significance outside of it. If someone feels they are going to be 'attacked with -1s' and cares about it, they can simply make another forum account and people won't -1 that account, unless person starts posting things people disagree with.




Reputation system is fine, you won't die for getting too much minus reputation or catch a prize for having +7865789 numbers. If you care about reputation that much, you can go make alt accounts and +1 yourself lots of times?
It's not like people is going to like you more or less, but if you feel that it is a well spent time, go on ^^,.

I sure wish you didn't post that information. Edit it, report it to CM/Mods so something can be done to fix it. But spreading it through the forums on how to do it isn't the best idea.

The system as it is is pretty broken. Ostensibly the downvote would be for awful trolls, offensive posts and things that violate the forum rules.

Downvoting a person's post just because you disagree/don't like them is going too far. Poor George Washington (the inventor of democracy) would be rolling in his coffin constructed of wooden teeth and cherry trees.

I guess I could have thousands of reputation if I spent my time worrying about it instead of posting about clearance and archbishops over and over. But what is the point of giving yourslef +1 or -1s? xP

Talking about archbishops:

I really hope Heim or Oda whoever is watching maintenance tonight can make clearance usable on anyone. He promissed a clearance usable on anyone like two months ago, but then forgot about adding all those nice changes for bishops

Whether I agree with the things Cyndra posts or not, logging out every time you -1 so that you can keep giving -1s to every post someone makes is most definitely harassment and abuse of a glitch. =/

The "don't post what people disagree with or create a new forum account" doesn't sound like democracy, it sounds like mob mentality.

Giving a -1 is like giving a bad review to a restaurant without saying what you didn't like about it-it takes no effort and no thought. Downvoting posts that don't even have something you don't like in it simply because of the person posting is bad form as well.
