Now I have a few ideas for ways to do this. One is a consistently, sought after use item that costs enough money to force high levels to spend.

Another idea, since the people with most of the money seem to be higher end guilds, would be to add a castle upkeep fee that costs a pretty fair amount.

Any more idea's? Anything that forces people to constantly spend money would be good as long as it gets the excess amounts of money out of the market right now.

As far as I can tell, the chief zeny sink for a server was pots. That worked well for a while, but as it stands I'm inclined to agree that there needs to be a more permanent way to control the amount of zeny in game. The raffle did a good job, even though it was only a temporary measure. The best way, I think, would be a tax system on player shops. The vendor sets the price they want for an item, and the game automatically adds a tax percentage to the price in the shop. When the item sells, the vendor makes their intended profit and the extra zeny go poof. There can be different tax rates for different items and the tax rates can even fluctuate to allow the GMs to control the amount of zeny in game.

Of course everyone would complain, but it's the best, most controllable option I've been able to come up with.
