As title says, how do you delete quest from the list other than simply hiding to inactive?

I have 2 Hunting Timer from 21st which stayed for some reason.

Yeah that would be nice to know i have quiet a few quests that are either stuck on it or I have no intention of completeing and would like to remove.

You can't. Occasionally they put in an npc to remove old event quests. You can right click them to toggle marking them "inactive" - the only effect is that inactive quests are only shown under the "all" or "inactive" tabs, not the "active" tab on the quest log window.
