It's the fourth time on Ymir where the hoards of Satan Morroc have escaped the Dimensional Gorge and wreaked havoc at South Prontera.

My question is, what's the best time for you all (during the week/weekends) for these events? ^^ Don't want anyone to miss out!

I believe no player should have such power bestowed on themselves, as to be able to summon Satan Morroc.

But I do believe there should be hired Event Creators, paid a small amount in either money or in wpe for their work.

I think the ability to hold ingame events should be something that is regularly passed off to various members of the community.

Those who do well and make a fair, balanced and interactive event can be considered for organizing others in the future.

Those who abuse it, blow it off and fail to organize an event during their window of opportunity, or seem to be unfairly favoring certain players would be blocked from holding another for a while.

A bit of variety would be nice.

Sera: Back on the old iROF I tried a couple of times to organize stuff, but the GMs pretty much said that they could not let players have that kind of responsibility.

If they make people doing things like this, like Ultimate sign an agreement that resembles the volunteer moderators agreement, then it would be something else.

Right now he is *this* close to abusing it.

Technically, Ultimate did the same thing anyone else could have done. He just bought a stack of Bloody Branches and used them all at once. It's wasn't any special power given to him. He was using in game items.

The event itself was interesting, but it pretty much only resulted in people dying and losing exp. The only ones who can genuinely participate were the high level people with mad gears. Otherwise, you were dead before you could type /effect.

Still, it's nice to have something going on. For the most part, though, I had no choice but to watch things happen as I laid on the floor.

They're talking about the fact that he can shout announcements all over the server (basically animosity eye porn) and that he is given free OCAs to hand out to players.

I feel that if someone is going to be given that type of power, they shouldn't be a regular RO player. A GM or some sort should be hired and paid to do these events, not an every day player.

I don't see anyone else stepping up and doing it. Willing to do it consistently/etc. He's just a regular player and the GM's deemed his games and stuff worthwhile so they gave him the megaphones. I havn't seen a single other person attempt to do that. Eff off imo, his events are funny and entertaining. Boo hoo animosity Q_Q

I suggest doing all spawn events on maps where exp can't be lost. And preferably with a save point. Attendance will increase and frustration will decrease. I understand you're not a GM, but if we're gonna do something let's at least do it right. GMs need to either run these events themselves, or give someone sub-GM power and keep a close eye on them.

Some other event ideas involving MVPs could be more competitive. We have USRC and RWC, why don't we have MVPC?

For example, using the Kunlun arena, we can all observe unobtrusively as teams take turns killing the same MVP. The team with the fastest time wins. Since MVPing is PvM oriented, there would be no need to restrict our equipment, levels, or provide us with supplies. We might need to disable skills on the ledge though. We wouldn't want the observers spamming skills to lag the fighters. An event like this would be competitive for old players, a learning experience for new players, and entertaining for everyone else.

@Sera - Hop on Vent.

Also I agree, these people need to be hired by gravity and use GM characters for these events, giving ordinary people powers is out of hand.. Afterall..

Pretty sure they aren't supposed to edit your posts. It's one thing to do it, but making it say "Don't hate the messenger" as your reason for doing it is really pushing it.
Stop trying to be a forum cop and actually do what you volunteered for. I see so many off topic threads plastered here constantly and nothing gets done about those.

We wouldn't have selected the people we did to become community mods if we did not have faith in their ability to exercise good judgement and to help us with the careful maintenance of the forums and promotion of a generally more positive environment here.

If you feel they step out of line, send me a PM but think about it: was what was edited so important/additive to the conversation that the reduced the quality of discourse here? The automated filter on the boards isn't a go-ahead to be as rude as possible to others.

Just as we are ceding more forum moderation responsibility to members of the community, helping to facilitate players like Ralis or Ultimate who are willing to do in-game events, set up threads and get people excited about playing the game is something that seems to have worked out well so far. If you have an idea , post it or let me know and I'll work with you to get it set up.

Basically if you guys want to create stuff to do in the game and we don't have to pay you, what does it cost us besides some Megaphones or small prizes to help? If there are significant problems or complaints, we just wouldn't have that person do it the next time.

If there is anything I've learned about this game (there are about 5 things in total), it's that the community is the angry, creative dynamo that drives the engine that has kept this creaky ol' game rumbling along for the past 8+ years.

Do they have the ability to summon the mobs for the event? I think that's what the people here are having an issue with, well that and the fact that Ultimate is apparently using the megaphones as propaganda tools for his guild.

If they have this ability to summon, how much of it is monitored by actual GMs?

No, I do not have the power to summon anything myself, so I assume it is the same with Ultimate. I purchase the Bloody / Dead Branches for summoning stuff in fields... All of the town invasions I've planned prior with Heim.

I have no abilities beyond a regular player... In fact I often decline when Oda or Heim ask if I need any prizes, as I prefer getting them myself. I can't say anything about what goes on in Ymir, but I know I draw a distinguished line between these server events and my own game.
