I'm trying to stack as much evade as I can but it seems I am not capable of reaching the highest evade or even enough to make a pathfinder miss.
What is a build that will stack aim and can keep you alive in pvp for a while?
I don't pvp as much because I miss a lot or I die too fast.
I don't want to rely on evade because it is kinda cheap and I can't stack much anyways so I want to try to eliminate that.

stack health?

Very nice guide! I've been using it for my new thief so far, and things are going smooth. I just wanna add one thing: Ambush launches fallen enemies at level 1 as well, and you suggested getting it to level 3 because apparently it used to launch fallen targets only at level 3. Should I still level it to level 3 or 5, for extra damage, still, or keep it at level 1? o:

The difference between level 3 and 5 is a 1s cooldown. I prefer 3 just for the lower cooldown.

does NInja need Buffs?

No.

Updated skills to reflect New Origins. Equipment section still slightly out of date, though there's not too much of a difference.

Updated a new basic build. I don't think I'm going to bother much with this anymore since ninja PvP isn't as fun as it used to be. Since they changed it to infinite amounts of aerial recoveries to make it even easier for bad players to get out of escapable air combos, the old combo just isn't viable anymore. Ninja PvP used to be filled with mind games for the right time to air recover, but now it's dead. What separated the good players from the bad players was their ability to keep up a combo and to anticipate the opponent's air recovery pattern and take advantage of mistakes in order to interrupt their recovery and continue your combo. Have fun with your easy mode PvP.

I thought the ninja air combo was pretty much dead after the Fly nerf, anyways, wasn't it? And taking into account the new CR passive buff that Storm mentioned, most ninjas can deal two or three times the amount of damage they used to do in one combo -- I've been killed in one combo from full health, at times. I think this was more a balancing factor, considering that multiple combos with the CR buff would be a bit much, IMO.

It's not about being able to do more damage. In terms of skill required, the skill cap certainly has gone down by a lot from before. The ninja class used to have a higher skill ceiling that allowed them to perform combos outside of the generic "use two skills and ground lock". The fly nerf certainly did not kill the ninja air combo -- it just made the skill cap on it even higher. Instead of simply spamming fly and ambush, the combo kind of changed so that we incorporate other skills into it. Usually, the combo ends after you air recover out of fly, but the difference between the more skilled players would be that they react quickly to the time of their opponent's aerial recovery. With that, your choice would be to try and use fly after they air recover to continue your combo, or to use swift to interrupt their air recovery after using fly first, provided that they recovered low enough for you to follow up with it. The other alternative would be to chain aerial frenzy after fly, which allowed you to follow up with either a dagger if you timed it properly, or to continue your combo with a cutdown, then swift to interrupt their next recovery, which would allow you to follow up with a dagger then. The sheer amount of combos and mixups that you were able to pull off added, in my opinion, a lot of depth to the PvP style of ninjas. However, the infinite aerial recoveries pretty much destroyed any comboing potential that relies on launching players.

If you've paid attention a lot in PvP, you'd probably have noticed that the more skilled ninja players were able to execute a much longer combo if we paid attention to the opponent's recovery closely. Many other ninjas just spammed their AoE skills and hoped that they would connect. I've PvPed with a lot of ninjas, and this is extremely noticeable across many levels of expertise with the class. While it is not the only reason, it certainly made it so that the more skilled players were more rewarded in PvP with this class. In its current state, there's really not much one can do besides knockdowns and stuns, since any type of launch would allow the enemy to get away. Before, even air combos could be relinked into a fresh ground combo, which allowed for so much more potential in terms of playstyle. Right now, PvP is pretty bland and there's a severe lack of variety. I originally chose the ninja class since a high level of skill would be rewarded. That feeling is completely gone now. Many other classes can spam their skills and still do plenty of damage. Ninjas now have only a limited amount of skills that can be chained together for damage. The use of ambush and fly are now discouraged and detract from the class's damage potential. Perhaps the problem is that all the other classes have similar skills that do a lot more damage. Headspin, storm blade, wyvern blade, megastorm blade, etc. all have higher damage than fly (sky penetration for those who still are unable to follow what fly refers to) with similar cooldowns and more hits. Perfect strike is an absolute joke in terms of damage -- I managed to crit Nilla for a whole 2.5k damage, which is basically 500 more than what a single crit dagger does. For a skill that's supposed to be "perfect", it really isn't so much close to perfect. With the sheer amount of damage other classes can output with skills that don't interrupt combos (dagger, which is our main damage skill, has a knockdown makes it not really viable in terms of damage during team play).

In general, I feel that ninjas are now a pretty underwhelming class whose skills don't really have the synergy they used to have. The fly cooldown increase no longer seems justifiable now that people can air recover for an unlimited amount of times. Ninjas simply have no way of assisting teammates when an enemy is launched (too many launching skills make it so that aerial frenzy is no longer viable to support air combos). Their damage while enemies are on the ground is questionable since most of their damage comes only when an enemy is stuck against a wall.

I realize my post is quite disorganized since I just wrote whatever was on my mind, but it should be able to get the point across.

Recommended Equipment section updated. As my guide is aimed at having the best possible end game equipment, I have omitted possible sets that don't involve black dragon lord pieces as they are inferior to options that are currently available.
