I really appreciate this guide and refer to it frequently as I'm raising my Gren up. Having a Dragoon, I've fallen in love with Crit Damage and so I intend to get a light set for my Gren (I cannot do a CP set--it's beyond my ability).

I have more to add. Being only 44 at this point in time, I feel that I haven't exactly gotten into the Gren rhythm just yet. I did defy a few things from your guide in interest of experimentation with the skills (I personally find grenades fun though your point is very sound and I might be willed to drop them when I reset later on). I also want to ask about stepshooting. It's not something I see discussed often and I realize it's somewhat of a trade secret. Is it possible only to do this with ridiculously high attack speeds? How, precisely, do you do it? I have heard that it's as simple as pressing x, lightly tapping a movement key, and repeating. Perhaps my PS3 controller is interfering in doing that? A brush up would be very nice.

As Sharp said, Adrenaline is good enough. I always cast it with my guild skill, so thats +45% aspd if I remember the numbers correctly. The precision at which I can cancel the animation and shoot again varies depending on the day. Sometimes I can have it near perfect and never move while other times I'll accidentally dash x. It is pretty simple to do once you get the muscle memory for it, its simply alternating between moving and shooting. Down and Up or Left and right to stay in a single spot.

So what you want to do is move the least amount as possible while canceling your shots. I don't remember how I picked it up, I guess I just found it out simply by playing and over time it's become second nature to me.

Regarding H.E. grenades, they may have more potential in the future if you can get them to level 8+. They're not entirely bad right now, but even with my current build (Not same as guide) I don't have the SP to get it.

Higher levels of adrenaline is the only ASPD you'll need.

Oh, that's very reassuring. I've practiced a bit and can do it in a lame way but I figure I'd have to wait until later on to make it more efficient. Thanks, Sharp!

Ah, I see. I'll have to fall into the skill of it, then. As I said, I feel like I'm slightly out of my rhythm when I play on my gren. I first leveled it to 30-something back on THQ and only recently got it up to 44 so I haven't had as consistent playtime with it. I'm also very used to my Dragoon where I spam, basically, the same two skills on monsters. EDIT ON: Out of curiosity, do you use a gamepad (I assume you do)? When stepshooting do you use the D-pad or analogs?

I'm a huge fan of Vulcan but I think I'll take your advice of leaving it at 1. The damage is already nice enough for bosses, though I'm curious to know its length at level 5.

Thanks, guys!

Nope, although a gamepad would make animation canceling ridiculously easier, I prefer the keyboard.
Unfortunately, my down key gets stuck right now so I can't cancel or dash in that direction. :P
And because I use the keyboard, I can't answer the question, I guess it'd be your preference.

Sorry I haven't tested it out myself, I still have all 3 skill resets but I'm too stubborn. Which is why I lack some SP. If you're fine with the level 1 vulcan damage thats great! I'm content with it right now, but don't be afraid to level it up to 5 if you want!

Bump for informative topic.

What is the best thing we can do in F7? Usually I spam grenades + caused bomber.

Maybe I'm just useless but theres not much I can do at the higher levels when my damage becomes obsolete. Anything is fine for the first stages as long as you kill the monsters.

They say caused bomber is apparently good, but I still find myself using
X spam, Gatling, Tank
And to a lesser extent, Carpet Bombing and Vulcan 300

Quick Q
With the New Bone dragon Sets Coming Would You Say Its Better To Stick With The 67 Light Set, Mix It Up Or What?(Besides Getting The Backs If You Dont Have Kimarts Or A Decent Old Bone Dragon Back)

If you want to be tankier go with this set:

Undead Helm
Undead Shoulder
Undead Top
Undead Bottom
Undead Shield
Premium Gloves of Ursano
Premium Hairy Boots of Kryonos

145 Agi + 95 Hlt + 23% Acc + 10% Evade + 18% Movement Speed + 1600 MP

Otherwise, go for the Rokoko set for CD.

You'll have to weigh what's more important to you. Overall the new bone set will give better stats in all except damage. This will significantly boost your survivability, but you'll need to make up for the lack of critical damage on your weapons and backs. They way I play the class is as a support DPS, so I rely heavily on my damage and not so much my defensive stats. Aside from N2, you'd be worthless without any damage, be it through your weapon enchant, critical damage, or a combination of both.

Rokoko gives overall decent stats, enough to survive while giving the vital 100% critical damage. Ideally, getting both sets would be good, but if I had to choose one I'd go for critical damage. I myself will probably end up getting the new bone set to try it out.

Summary: Damage > Survivability

These are my stats with Rokoko (Not wearing Agnes, Lava Belt, Zau)

If you do end up deciding to get bone, the post above shows the correct combination.

Where did you get 145 agi? I only see 55.

50 agi from glove + 40 agi from boots + 55 agi from helm = 145 agi.

Oh right silly me. I was only counting bone set alone. Thank you.

This guide provided such a massive level of awesome on my sheltered and hollow husk of a life that I had no choice but to make a grenadier despite my hate for leveling alts. I played it non-stop for several days without any sleep until it eventually reached max level before my MAIN did. But when I tried to follow every instruction of Sheol's guide, I realized that the sheer epicness of his character-crafting was too much for my feeble body to handle, and my character instantly deleted itself while my own internal organs all systematically failed, killing me instantly.

My funeral passed without event, I had expired alone and unmourned in my path to achieve true grenadier greatness.

But do you know something? Even though I died, it was the only time in my life that I had truly LIVED.

Achieve what I could not, potential grenadiers, and follow Sheol's gospel into a new life of untold PvP glory! Be not saddened by my passing, for know that I went after a long-empty void had finally filled.

...WITH MANJUICE.

Sheol, does Focus actually add absolute crit rate? I remember looking through IAH's forums and they indicated otherwise.

I have no proof that it does, however it would be illogical. Any other skill that increases critical rate is absolute. I don't see why they would Specialists the lowest Crit % and not make it absolute.

If I'm wrong, sorry.

Ok This Kinda Of Rises More Questions And I Guess I Skipped A Part Of Your Guide. I Saw You Said mvsp Effects Your Moonwalk Distance. Is There Perhaps Some Math To That? I'm Just curious About How Far I Could Really Move Depending On My mvsp. Also With Your Cash Set Do You Use The Pieces That Offer mvsp? Also I Think You Should Say Something About Self-bomber In Your Guide As A Usable Escape Similar To Ariel Smack Down.

LORD ZYLOK!
There is no way for me to find a formula to the distance of moonwalk, sorry. It's not a necessary skill to have so you don't really have to worry about it. It is nice to have if you do go the movement speed route though.

I am not currently using any movement speed pieces.

Moonwalk a certain distance and measure out how long it takes to walk there under constrained mspeed. Using the mspeed formula and time taken, find the distance traveled and divide by number of moonwalks. Voila!

Best guide ever helps me in PvP a lot and especially Sheol's streams. After watching hours and hours of streams and videos, I've learned a bit about what to do in PvP so I've gotten WAAAAYY better at PvP now, just not equip-wise but I know now what to use and what not to use after clicking Sheol a couple of times#4. I love you Sheol! Thanks for teaching me everything!

19 5-0's so far and counting~ -_-
