What are some of the better DB gear? Are things that add matk as useful as straight hp/sp?

You don't need any god item AT ALL to play DB. Even Brynhild is not the best armour for a DB RK. The Char that gets the most out of Brynhild is a Sura. (GF FTW) The standing Formula for DB according to iRO is:

(CurrentHP / 50) + (MaxSP / 4) * (SkillLvl * BaseLvl) / 150 * DragonTrainingAtkPer / 100

So at base level 150 and Dragon Training lvl 5, the equation reduced to:

(CurrentHP / 50) + (MaxSP / 4) * 12

There is a slight discrepency in this formula, I directly copy pasted from iRO. Basic mathematics tells you to perform multiplication and division first before the addition, and based on the format of the equation, only the MaxSP / 4 gets the *12 multiplier and not the CurrentHP / 50.... So which is which?

For starters lets test a naked RK @ lvl 150 with 120 VIT and 120 INT, according to RO CalcX, his HP, SP are:

HP: 50085
SP: 1322

plug these values into the formula:

(50085 / 50) + (1322 / 4) * 12 = 4967.7 !????

Obviously there is something wrong with that formula....

Assuming it is:

[(CurrentHP / 50) + (MaxSP / 4)] * 12 Now the square brackets make all the difference:

[(50085 / 50) + (1322 / 4)] * 12 = 15986.4

Now thats more like it......

So lets throw in a few common EQ that DB RKs SURE 100% WILL GET (Cumulatively):

+9 Nydhorgg's Shadow Garb [1]
+9 Flying Evil Wings [Carat Card]
Incubus Sunglasses
Variant Shoes

Now your HP and SP become:

HP: 60102
SP: 2251

For your accessory, 2 possible contendors are:

2x Vesper Core 01:

HP: 60102
SP: 2473

2x Diabolus Ring [1]:

HP: 60342
SP: 2491

Ok so Diabolus Ring [1] is better. Both HP and SP are more. On top of that it is slotted!!

Now for the armour ontop of all these EQ. A few contendors:

Glorious Suit:

HP: 70399
SP: 2491

DB Damage: 24368.76

Brynhild:

HP: 63942
SP: 3391

DB Damage: 25519.08

Diab Armour [Tao Gunka]:

HP: 110957
SP: 2491

DB Damage: 34102.68 <-------- AWESOME!!!!!!

Dammit LOL..... Bryn already goes for about 4B.... And Tao Gunka Card is WAY better... Think its price can easily match if not outbid Kiel-D @_@

Well Im correct after all in saying you don't need God items for playing a DB RK. But you didn't say no MVP cards.

I have a concern about the Diab Armor though. Wouldn't a Life Link be better? That is, unless the bonus %MATK affects Dragon Breath.

LOL. I didn't really put much tot into what armour u should slot the Tao Gunka into... Its not like you really have it.. do you !@? @__@...

normally people will slot MVP cards into Valk armor, cos all classes can use that way.

hmm, does rideword hat's hp/sp regen on attack affect dragons breath? there's some weird wording about the RWH saying melee, yet it works with things like clashing spiral (ranged & pneuma blockable)

actually, and with that, does shadow garb or hunter fly weapons?

Supposedly the hp suck effect of HFC and Rideword does work with DB (i've never tried it - I leveled spamming KRC's because I assumed it didn't). I did look for the SP-suck effect of RW hat, and I didn't see it proc, ever, so I assume it doesn't work (or I was VERY unlucky).

Noumi: Interesting to know the damage difference is only about 1k with glorious suit and bryn.

I use a flame mant of nacht siegerw ith ray card but some ppl slot in an aliot card.

+9 flapping evil wings are rare so i put an incubus card in mine - if it doesn't reduce my dbs i just use a rideword hat.

I think bradium shield gives more hp too.

umbala spirit or donut is good for lower slot.

What is better? +9 Maestro Flying Evil Wings or (same upgraded carded) rideword for DB? Rideword would be better for sustainability in combination with quad malicious but any opinion from someone who actually used?
