Hi, using ghost armor I didn't notice any reduction in PVM mob damage. . does ghostarmor only work PvP? and aren't most MOB melee attacks Neutral?
I must be missing something because way back when GhostArmor reduced NeutralDMG taken from monsters by approx. 75% if im not mistaken...Maybe it changed VIA Renewal?
HELP ME OUT HERE PLEASE )))

Ghost armor does not work against monster attacks.
Monsters' normal attacks are best understood as a separate element, some call it "non-elemental", which is effected by "%reduction from neutral" effects, but inflicts full damage on ghost element. Homun normal attacks are also non-elemental, which is why they can hit ghost monsters w/out trouble.
Ghost armor has NEVER worked against monster attacks on any official server. It is quite possible that the whole "monster normal attacks do full damage to ghost element" mechanic was implemented specifically to prevent GR from being game-breaking back when it gave 75% reduction.

back when it gave 75% reduction.
It still gives 75% reduction. Doesn't it?

Having experienced the effects of GR during Beta days I ll confirm that Ghostring only works in PVP/WAr/Battle Grounds and against some specific monster skills like Earthquake/Pulse Strike and Spiral Pierce .(Check iroWiki)
It does not work against regular monsters even inside PVP or Castle environments.
It still has a huge value because it reduces 75% damage from neutral skills like Acid Bomb and Gullitone Fist which makes it an awesome asset.

Now its only a 30% reduction in Renewal. But it's still really useful as it can be the only thing that reduces certain skills that ignore % reductions.

I always understood it as all attacks are checked against reduction cards, but normal monster attacks aren't checked against monster elements because the only element that mattered against neutral was too effective anyway, and no other element does anything to neutral. I'm under the impression that whenever a monster uses a skill of any kind where the element is still neutral, then it kicked in.
So in the same way water armour is good for "Water attack", would GR be effective against a monster using Bash or anything like that?

Yea, GR works on skills from monsters, like a regular Bash would get reduced.. but on the basic attacks from monsters will not be reduced by wearing a GR.
