Balance patch wtf?

I appreciate all the work you mods,devs etc do, but I strongly disagree with your balance patch. Ranger is getting way to nerfed while there is no mention of nerfing guilotine fist? wtf?!?!

Fear Breeze

Melee-range attacks no longer activate the skill.
Activation chance increased.
Tested to be 30% chance
SP Cost increased.


melee-range attaks no longer activate?!?! wtf is the point of this skill? its called fear breeze, breeze as in arrows in the wind, correct me if im wrong that this wont proc with bow, the term melee-range is confusing. This skill is garbage as it is why are you nerfing this?!

And trap dmg nerf, come on!!! I hate pvp, all i do is pvm and ur nerfing the crap out of that with dmg reduc.

Anyway thats my 2 cents, thanks again.

Seriously, this not only affects rangers, but many shadow chasers as well. I just got to Shadow Chaser recently and I'm actually enjoy playing my character with traps instead of the stupidly cumbersome bowling bash that I had to deal with since before renewal and now I get my lovely new skill turned to shat by the geniuses at gravityHQ. I don't want to be forced to use another stupidly cumbersome skill if I ever want to level again. My WoE fun was already taken away with renewal and now it seems like my pvm fun will be gone too. =(

Melee attacks do not activate Fear Breeze. I will change the term "Melee-range" to avoid future confusion.

No direct nerf on gfist (yet) but at least SW will block the damage again.

No clue what we will do as Trap chasers but HF cards/RW hat won't proc anymore, damage is being nerfed.

Masquerade won't work on MVP's ... I can deal with that I guess

SP cost for reproduce spell is doubled ... what's the point of this honestly.

Alot of their "balance" changes seem absolutely redundant. I've never been so disgusted with any balance patch in any game I've played (and I don't even play any of the classes that need/are getting nerfed).

Why exactly should gfist be nerfed? If anything, Cursed Circle should be given a cast time so it's at least avoidable without having to predict when your enemy will snap onto you. And yeah, GoH blah blah blah.

Because it was a skill planned for monks years, which constantly grows stronger and stronger as more gear, more class changes, more stats, and more SP mods are introduced. Just saying =p.

Edit: I forgot!c Also planned in a time where you had to summon spirit sphere x5-> fury-> summon spirit sphere x5-> cast it. Not with like, raising dragon!!-> *click*.

traps onviously need to be nerfed. maybe not too much because it is "OP" but mainly because the archer class needs to be an archer class again.
all rangers do is walk around and put their traps on the floor, that is not the purpose of a ranger, that's just retarded.

on the long run, traps need to be alot less attractive and ranged attacks (aka bow abilities) need to be made better. so the majority of rangers will go back to good old "archer" style, instead of being the jesters they currently are.

I'm not even sure if this post is serious or not. Rangers need to balance their bow, because they're not meant to be pure-trappers. This patch only nerfs traps, which they should be, and gives more opportunities to bows, which should happen since we're a ranged archer class. Our damage fails in comparison to other classes now using the bow; balancing helps increase our damage so that we don't suck as much.

Our damage fails in comparison to other classes now using the bow; balancing helps increase our damage so that we don't suck as much.


If this is the case, then why the heck does my maestro have to use a bow for their main damaging skill?! Instead of nerfing the crap out of the useful skills, why not buff the other ones so that the player can choose their own playing style and not be forced into a single path if they actually want to feel useful. This patch is making me wish I could get a refund on the advance payment I made for this game.

We'll be able to discuss issues more fluidly when we actually get the patch and are able to test it, and after we put up the actual change logs that we received.

We are expecting to get the full patch catching us up with kRO near the end of August (this is different than the original 2 patch approach we were on).

And be testing it with a possible implementation of early September. The delay is caused by sudden changes in the kRO version that needed more testing than originally planned.

RO will always need rebalancing, any new class/skill/equipment will always cause changes in balance, so please don't think this will be the "end of balancing" I know as soon as we get a patch we will be starting another round of balance requests.

Heim, just please leave me a way to level my shadow chaser that doesn't involve control clicking or returning to 2nd class skills, because that would make me very sad.

Just because its listed in that thread doesn't mean that all those changes will happen, until testing is done nothing is set in stone.

This is exactly how I felt with Rangers and traps. Pretty much no Rangers use bows at the moment. Isn't this confining me to one kind of playing style as you aforementioned?

Bow definately need a good buff, but then again nerfing the :smooch: out of one build so the other one is better isn't balancing.

I agree Bows do need buffs. Sad though I just made a Shadow Chaser this morning and now it seems like I won't be able to utilize him in the future.

You didn't read my whole post or misunderstood it, because then you would have seen me say "instead of nerfing the crap out of the useful skills, why not buff the other ones so that the player can choose their own playing style." Like Shiroi said, that doesn't mean screwing over one build in favor of another. Might as well remove the skills from the game and be done with it then if they don't want people using them.

At this rate all the 3rd jobs are going to get nerfed down the point where they are just trans wearing a different shirt. Just buff the weak classes and leave the strong ones alone (other than a few tweaks for the really outragous stuff).

What I don't get is why gravity HQ pretends they're doing serious balancing by also changing around fancy minor stuff, sometimes seemingly without basis, and even when there is some kind of reasoning, they manage to pick the stupid way to fix it, while sura is still OP after years for example.

This so people need to quit getting butthurt and most of them only care about being able to one shot everyone in woe.

Me too! Though I was going for an auto spell build and at least they haven't touched that. Levelling til I get there is gonna be tough though, especially with double SP reproduced skills :smooch:
