But the game is still kicking and no where near dead

If you ignore PVP and WoE aspects of the game I found it to be enjoyable and its way easier to level up to 99 this time around instead of pre-renewal where people cursed etc whenever they died. With weekly Turn-in events it has encouraged partying amongst the RO Community.

That's not what OP asked.

Population is lower but game itself is on the uptick as compared to say 2009.

Seeing as updates and patches seem to be moving faster now (as compared to 2009), the game seems pretty much alive.

I wouldn't be surprised if many people do this.

Gravity has been doing a much better job of managing things lately. I'd say things are on the rise again, though they had been declining a bit since Renewal.

More players now then when i returned this january. So Id say its picking up. Business is good. Money to be made. KP to sell. People to buy it. End =D!

RO isn't dead although I don't know for how long seeing that gravity is slowly cannibalizing the game.

If you find the right cell they go on you can send them all to an adventure to nameless island That's what I used to do at least.

Back on topic, I see many new players so I wouldn't really say it is dying. Not all of them stay, but a good amount do.

I also still play coz of PVM and WOE, making unique char builds /no1 and Ragnarok in-game videos. /ok

It is pretty alive, however it may lost a part of the popularity that didn't adapt to Renewal, (Like me xP)
or just simply quit for personal reasons. =P

RO is nowhere near dead, and I've seen the dev plans for at least the next 2 years, and we are working on a 3 year plan already... So I think it is safe to say we'll be around for quite some time.

Can OP please cite sources to indicate why he/she thinks the game is dying. population comparisons for example. Cause atm I see iRO with more population than last year, not less? I am curious what OP is basing this assumption on?

^ It is actually dying if you actually take notice how many legit players are actually playing

In Yggdrasil and Valkyrie Servers:

80% bots
15% legit players
5% A F K and people trying to look cute in Eden

For Ymir, I'm glad GMs are paying a lot of attention to it, but they need to work on the other servers too...
