Mechanics SUCKED in PvM when they were released - most of their skill tree was Mado, and you got gimped to hell and back if you actually used one, instead of playing as a mastersmith with +1 attack skill.

To fix the mechanic, they made a mech-only 1 handed mace with insane attack power, slapped a level-scaling multiplier on all damage skills, and called it a day. Sure it was half-assed (they didn't even bother giving PB graphics, it looks like the 60z mace), but it absolutely fixed the class, and it's actually quite fun to play now.

So, here's the thing. We know kRO doesn't care - apparently people only play 4 classes in Korea. So while we wait for balance that may or may not come in the next 2 years or so, why not implement temporary gear to balance them with a sledgehammer until they get real fixes?
Couldn't the GMs make a simple quest that awards a weapon that's intentionally way overpowered like Pile Bunker to compensate for the massively underpowered classes (like mechanic WAS?) Give the locks huge +MATK and -fixed cast weapon, ABs a ginormous +heal and +holy matk, rangers a giant damage multiplier on all bow skills... etc.

Slap a big red "This is a temporary weapon while we await the balance patch. It will be deleted when it arrives." in the weapons' descriptions, and bam, everyone can play their former characters again, and we're good to go, even it takes kRO another 1-2 years to actually fix their damn game.

I think the really bad thing about the Laphine staff for WLocks is that yeah it has an easy -5% fixed cast (lvl 3 safe +5) BUT remember that fixed cast reduction doesn't stack. Since Locks already have a skill that gives -10 to -20% fixed reduction this wand is a piece of Garbage.

It also has a crappily low Magic attack for a lvl 100+ weapon.

Well ABs get an Adoramus set that massively buffs its damage. The problem with that is it's a single target skill which would make for some slow levelling.

I can't believe AB never really got an upgraded ME that just did holy damage instead of the retarded undead/demon restriction.

Sadly. As much as I have enjoyed this game. This kind of stuff, combined with so many other things, have ruined it. RO is not worth playing any longer. Just stop supporting gravity and find another game to play. When their population starts drastically declining they will be forced to change the game, or shut down. This is unfortunately the only way to fight the injustice that is iRO. Even if it is kRO's fault, iRO gets the blame here because we play here. They need to push for more freedom for this server or pass the company over to someone who will.
