We have come to a decision and we will be changing the way the prize rewards will work. We will be having a drawing for all users that make it to level 80 to be fair. There will be 5 prizes given out instead of 1 first place and 3 additional prizes. The details have been changed in the Opening Post.

i understand making the "race" "fair" is important to keeping the peace...consider, though, that "race" implies whoever gets there first wins...

by definition, this change means the "race" is no longer a "race"-- it's a lottery.

how is it "fair" to the ppl that have busted their butts grinding f7s for hours and hours on end.

i believe the saying goes something along the lines of the key to failure is trying to please everybody.
yeah it sucks that the clients weren't behaving as planned...but when do they after a huge patch?

i was just as eager to race to 80. yeah i was disappointed when i couldn't get on, but i'm not gonna cry about it the way some ppl are >>
give the ppl that got there first what they were originally promised and lottery a set or two for the rest of us that get to 80.

People do Hero Quests for dungeons, but to get gears. But they still do them! If you had a choice between leveling fast and leveling slowly, which would you pick? Honestly, I'd prefer leveling fast. *points to F7*

When I played in Japanese server like 1 year ago, the quests gave us very very big EXP so we can level quite fast through quests, not a monotone F7

I believe you are mistaken. You are highly encouraged to take part in the quests and take your time in the game and enjoy all there is to offer. However, there is a highly competitive spirit that you can also choose to take part in on top of pure enjoyment. Many players take pleasure in achievement and recognition, and these Race to the Cap events encourage that competitive spirit, welcome all sorts of walks of players, and offer rewards for hard work and effort. Rather than jumping to the conclusion that you are advised not to take your time, think of it as a bonus gift to those who like to go the extra mile.

I agree that this is a good point. Quests are very character building but become obsolete in the face of grinding methods like F7. It would be nice to have a good amount of exp/a viable way to level through quests.

Though I am very satisfied with F7 as well. I have never before experienced such a fun leveling system in any MMORPG and its playstyle really is far off the track from Dragon Saga's usual play--but it works out to a fun experience for every run. I believe it is important to keep in mind when you grind F7 not to have the absolute best, most perfect build, but to experiment and try out different combinations for yourself.

I believe the prizes are going out at next maint. once the race event ends.

I am interested in the level 80 medal though as I am not level 80 just yet but have not heard of anyone getting it upon reaching level 80 yet (it seems to have had it's name and/or stats changed since the one time I saw a GM with it on too)

Keep in mind that an F7 can last more than an hour, as well. :C

I have 3 lvl 70+..
and I'm not trying to rub it since its easy to lvl ... F7...
my point is, compare Chaos 4%-5% per 2 hours of constant killing, to F7 afking/leech from towers, it's like laughing in your face mang.

that would be a bad idea, I used to leave the map around stage 45 to avoid the time waste, when monsters start doing almost a full run it's wasted of my afking time.
