I mean the title already explains.....

I have just restarted playing RO again and its not fair how some people get easy way out of the game by

abusing programs to get loots then selling them off.....

I am not a user I have just heard about it from a friend and now i am sure it exists because as we are speaking, bunch of rogues just blocked

the passage to the clock tower by trying to all go there at the same time....

its ridiculous.... not only it takes the fun out of people like me, but also it makes the game inbalance.

First suggestion, fix the program so that only one raganarok launcher can be used at a time and second make some kind of in game police group to catch these people in exchange of somekind of reward. or make a gm group or something.

Its really frustrating to see these NON players that are actually occupying and taking away the loots.

PS one time ive seen like 30 rogues in one map... sigh...

The problem is pretty bad and I hope they find a solution to better control the problem with the free servers especially. Since those people lose nothing, they can afford to keep making new accounts... It makes it a pretty daunting task to ban everything manually and too time consuming to get them all if it was only one person, I think. It was mentioned a while back that they were training a team whose task was only banning bots, but I'm not sure what ever came of that... :l

Disallowing multiclienting really only hurts players who don't cheat. That isn't a reasonable solution. Those dozens of rogue bots you see don't even use the client. When you come across a bot (or a plethora of bots), do try to send a ticket about the issue to support, with screenshots showing a couple of their names if possible. PMing Oda here on the forums if he's around seems good for particularly annoying cases as well, if he's not too busy to check things out.

They definitely need to find a solution soon that isn't a complete drain on all their manpower or players' time each and every day.

The community could also solve the problem itself if PEOPLE STOPPED BUYING ZENY. Goddamn.

Thank you! I dont think it is going to cost much money either.

You can reward the players with maybe 1000 zenny for reporting each bots you come across.

Something like that so that you guys dont have to use REAL money. And it is in YOUR best interest to keep those people out side of the game

since they are the ones taking money from YOUR opportunity to earn more money. eh? EH?!

Even though we feel that the zeny sellers are stealing business from WP, they still have an edge over the zeny sellers: The ability to create new and more powerful kafra items, and that is what WP has been doing for quite some time now. So everytime they feel like increasing profit, they introduce new kafra items, like what they are doing with the current summer lucky pack.

Just look at the number of Black Frame Glasses and Mercury Risers in the game. Each pack costs 1200 kafra points which is 10 USD. by the looks of it there must have been thousands of such packs sold, earning them tens of thousands. Im not sure how big the zeny black market is, nor do I think I will ever find out either. Obviously no one who sells or buys zeny will share how much they spend or earn from buying/selling zeny. Its nonetheless probably only a fraction of what WP earns from the kafra items.

So if I were the WP chairman, instead of spending time and effort to deal with the zeny sellers, which would incurr more costs thru hiring more GMs or purchasing security software that might not even work like game guard, and yet do not even generate profits anywhere near that of the Kafra items. I would rather spend time desigining new kafra items to sell.

Does anyone notice that new kafra items are coming out at a faster rate than before??? I wonder whats the reason behind that.

The core of the problem is that the valk/ygg servers are free. So the botters have little to lose. What would you expect to happen? On Ymir, bots are rare, just because of the paywall on character creation. It's worked so much better than anything that's been tried to control botting... And in fact, they ban TONS of bots - but the botfarmers (which, if you didn't know, are chinese gold seller types, people who do this for a living, not players) just remake them as soon as they're banned. They have separate IP for each bot via proxies, so you can't IP ban them. They don't use the legit client, so restricting the number of game clients running won't work either. CAPTCHA's don't work (they only work if it's not worth paying for a person to enter them. Consider how long it takes to enter a captcha, and what wages are in china - it becomes obvious that they're not going to be effective).
The GMs have said that they aren't going to give players GM powers because of issues of abuse potential and accountability (even if the players don't ban anyone wrongfully - which isn't a safe assumption. Never underestimate the levels that people will sink to over stupid drama - banned botters will accuse them of banning wrongfully and cause a big mess as a result).

What I don't get is why the hell people keep buying zeny, when it's only a little cheaper than selling kafra shop items for zeny - and illegally buying zeny has a high risk of getting you banned, while kafra shop is risk free. And knowing that illegal zeny buying supports the bots and the spammers, while the kafra shop helps fund improvements to the game (Lets face it, since kafra shop came in, events are up by leaps and bounds, and the GMs are 100x more accessible).

hmmm it seems like the calculation is lil far fetched. obviously there are few hundreds of rogue running all around the map 24/7 with no labor soooooo you cant really determine how much WP can actually make without these botters.

I get the problem and all that is bad. What i want is! solution and how we could fix it for better playing environment.

so far from what i can remember, because of these black zenny market,

1st) almost every major cities have this novice announcers which prevents me from communicating effectively among my peers.
everytime i receive a msg or send one, their advertisements overlap what i was saying. sure we can use chat box and watever...
but how about the newcomers who doesnt know how to use these kinds of functions. its not so friendly for them. I started RO again
and i felt like the newly "FREE" raganarok did not seem to give a F about the game because there were many illegal things going on
right up at our face and it wasnt being fixed.


2nd) THE ROGUES - what this post was originally about - passage blocking, mob stealing, degrades players experience and reputation of RO and WP.

3rd) NON EQUAL OPPORTUNITES as the REAL player merchant - rogues actually works for them so people who can earn rare items fast can put out items much cheaper and often, making it hard to have fun to the REAL players. the whole black market businness kinda forces players to buy their zenny because they are preventing the players from having fun.


these are some of the issues that i just roughly wrote down from top of my head. again i am looking for solutions that WP can possibly do for us.telling us to join 'em doesnt really convince me, rather really makes me think that somebody in WP is actually working with the Black market.

Now I believe and understand that maybe it is WP intention to leave the FREE server up and running WITH the problems so that the players exp. from the paid and free is clearly distinguished. It is not right, however, that you dont do anything about the problems that are there. do you think people that have used the free server would actually pay to get better playtime exp. after seeing all the mess thats gonig around? NO SIR!

I want to write more but running out of time. hope i get some feedbacks from the WP or something.
