When I went into my own profile, I noticed that there was an area that had a display name history or something of the kind. I registered my account name as this but I would rather have my forum display name be something else (because on the old iRO forums, we were able to pick a display name separate from our account name.)

I didn't see an option anywhere, so maybe it's something that can be activated, but are there any plans on letting us change our forum display name?

The Display Name History will provide a list of your previous Display Names if you have any. Only administrators can change your Display Name. ;(

It doesn't quite work the same way a user name does, not that it really matters. This forum doesn't use user names, it uses e-mail addresses. Your e-mail address is your account name, I guess you could say (not sure if that's an accurate way to put it). The Display Name is simply the name it shows when you make a post, it's a nickname.

That's what I remember anyway. Who knows.

The display name and nickname is the same, and is set when you first registered on the WarpPortal website. The display name is NOT your login name, as that is your email address. If you wish to change your display name, please submit a ticket to the WarpPortal support site, and a customer service representative will assist you: http://support.warpportal.com

Why not let people change their own display name?

Just restrict it to once every 30-60 or even 90 days and require 100 posts or something like that. That way it frees up time for the support team so they don't have to waste time with trivial matters like display names. Allowing a user to change their name once every couple of months is pretty harmless too.

There is an option during registration that clearly said it is your Display (Forum name). I think you have over looked that.
