I want to make a good Dual Dagger Assassin.

The build I'm following advises me to take Katar skills, like katar mastery lv 4 and Sonic Blow lv 10 but I'm not really sure that it's a great thing.

Should I take them or Should I take only venom skills?

Currently, my skills are:

Double Attack 10
Improve Dodge 10
Steal 10
Hiding 10
Envenom 8
Detoxify 1

Right Hand Mastery 5
Left Hand Mastery 5
Cloaking 10
Enchant poison 3

You need Sonic Blow Level 10 and Katar Mastery 4 for Cross Impact which is usable and works wonders with a Double Dagger once you are Guilottine Cross. You don't need other Katar related skills. All Poison attacks suck maybe except for Venom Splasher but your skill points are pretty limited, so I wouldn't advice getting it either.

Enchant Poison, Meteor Assault, Soul Destroyer should be all maxed once you're an Assassin Cross. For more details on the skill build, here's one I made for double daggers:

Your build might be different depending on how you're gonna use this character because I'm not sure what you have in mind. (PvM/WoE/PvP)

Once you're level 150/50, you can remove Counter Slash and probably add more points to Venom Pressure and Max your New Poison Research to add 3 more seconds to your Enchant Deadly Poison if you wanna go all PvP/WoE.

Preferably, having higher Weapon Blocking is good for PvM at first so you can Counter Slash more often and easily.

I see. So I shouldn't get Poison skills because they are useless for a double dagger assassin.

At the moment I am interested in PvM and I don't think I'll change my decision.

Should I max enchant poison when I'm still an Assassin or should I max it later?

Thank you for the help.

Depends on where you are training at. Some enemies late in the game laugh at poison damage due to their high HP amount. Your damage doesn't come from poisoning enemies with Enchat Poison but having a decent combination of daggers/swords to attack with. I wouldn't suggest getting it early.

Max Right and Left Hand Masteries and then Grimtooth. Your Grimtooth damage will be almost twice as stronger than a Katar Assassin so this will be your primary killing/mobbing skill. Make sure you do the skill quest for Find Stone+Stone Fling and use it to mob enemies. Then Hide and spam Grimtooth. You'll level fast with this method.

There is one Katar skill that a DD Sin should get and thats Grimtooth. You see it's a mobbing katar skill that requires DEX. Since DD sins get lots of dex this provides a 2nd option for if you ever want to mob guys.

Also just fyi the only difference really stat build wise between DD and Katar sins is that Katar don't usually get much Dex but get like ~60 Luk instead. This is because Katar Sins primarily hit with Critical attacks since Katars double any crit bonus u have.

I LOVE DD sin's. I now have a GX that is DD ALL the way from 1-99 then trans 1-99.

Also I don't believe I EVER, accept for a test now and then, ever used Enchant Poison. This is quite weak imho. It is MUCH better to use elemental Endows, converters or elemental weapons then this skill by far. As a SinX you will throw 6 points into it to unlock later skills like Soul Destroyer etc but that is it.

R&L Mastery 10
Katar " 10
Sonic Blow 10
GrimTooth 5
Cloak 3 (so you can use away from walls)

This is all you need as a Sin. Poison skills for Assassin suck until Enchant Deadly Poison as a SinX which adds 400% damage at max lvl for 1 min.

Edit: BTW the reason I through in Katar and SBlow is because now and then perhaps for a quest you need to hunt Large monsters. If that ever happens it can be very useful to switch for a bit to a Katar to take them out with an SBlow or two. The fact is that most Katar sins don't dare to use SB due to low dex, where as a DD Sin switching to Katar for a tiny bit can utilize it very well.

Enchant Poison 6 is needed for Create Deadly Poison and Soul Destroyer. You'll still have it either way. It also works with Venom Impression. If you don't have enough Poison Bottles to use for Enchant Deadly Poison, it's nice to have higher Enchant Poison for duration and chance.

Either way, you can always put more points on Cloaking if you don't know where to put extra skill points.

which is why I said as a "SinX" he will need it to unlock skills. As a regular DD Sin it's quite worthless.

Did I miss something?
Grimtooth is only usable with a katar isn't it?
Or was this changed at some point?

No Grimtooth is still only useable with Katar.

The reason I recommend GT for DD sins as an option is lets face it. GT needs Dex in order to hit it's targets since it cannot Critical hit. Most Katar Builds DON'T go for any significant Dex so this would be useless to them. On the other hand DD Sin's usually get lots of Dex.

This way by Changing to a Katar if ever needed a DD Sin can use GT quite well. To be truthful at later levels, around say 97+, it can get a bit annoying to ctrl click your way sometimes. I know I did a bit of mobbing to see how the exp would be during a 2x exp event on Kobolds. Now I did find Magmarrings a lot better but sometimes that map was just so overcrowded it was nice to have other options.

All I am pointing out is it's good to have options and not to be locked.
