I haven't tried them simply because I have no idea what they are and what they're for... Can someone explain the Profession system to me? e.e

Professions is an elective feature that allows the player to expand their skills and equipment through various activities. These activities, known as professions, can be learned by speaking to Master Producer <Midas> in Port of Winds.
You try to go through Productions to get items that
Creates Option expanding products
Creates Soul Shift products
Creates Socket Enhancing products
Creates Soul extracting products
You try to go through Productions to get items that
Creates Option expanding products
Creates Soul Shift products
Creates Socket Enhancing products
