Hey all I am in the process of leveling my Bard & Dacner Combo and am wondering what skills they should get. They will be always leveling together and perhaps with my main account as well.

My Bard has Magic Strings & Lessons already maxed. Stings ofc because of my Wizard (now a WL) and also for my Scholar and parties.

My Dancer likewise has Gypsies Kiss and Lessons maxed as well for that VERY useful sp cost reduction of skills like Double strafe.


In fact currently they level by her playing GK and him using Double Strafe the majority of the time. (Doing Metaling/Porcellio turn in's)


Now for mob leveling later on I would kind of like to get Slow Grace on my Dancer to slow them down, I think it would be VERY useful but I may be wrong. I figure this maxed + lessons is like having a 40% reduction garment almost. Since my Dex is at Base 90 it's basically 49% reduction really.

I figure pairing the above with my Bard playing Song of Lutie and healing everything would be really great as well. But only if not using a caster as Strings would be better then.

Now just in case they are doing the fighting I also have melody Strike and Slinging Arrow to use if they get a good instrument.

Now I have 9 points left and was thinking of getting either Battle Theme or Harmonic Lick. I know that Lick gives Piercing damage of 175 but see that BT gives 250 damage (non Piercing) but also gives a Def Bonus as well.

Now BT says it does NOT affect the caster, but does this mean BOTH of them since it's an ensemble? Also is it just atk bonus that does not work or is it Def as well?.

As it stands it looks like HL can be used by them at the same time they play so seems to be better.

Any help is appreciated but keep in mind that these are not my mains but more for supporting my mains whoever they might be.

Yeah I know they would I just really really hate Lady Luck.


Also quick question about exactly how it works.

If the PLAYER is in the AoE and kills a Monster outside the AoE do they still get the bonus?! If not then this kind of loses the few good things it has going for it.

I really really wish that Slow Grace and Magic Strings were the paired skills. It's annoying as I find LL quite useless and have to waste 10 points then I would MUCH rather spend on Slow Grace.

Although I have to admit the Slow Grace and Impressive Riff are well paired. So are Kiss and Lutie. All of these are quite useful as well. Attack speed increase and monster atk speed decrease so useful. SP for skills halved and max sp / HP recovery who doesn't like?

Magic Strings by FAR the best skill as it makes Wizards just so much more DEADLY. Firing off massive AoE spells quicker and more often.

But then what do they pair the best skill with? They pair it with USELESS Crit rate increases. At the least they could have had this increase Perfect Dodge as well but no.

Focus Ballet another useless skill, who really needs Hit rate increases?! If your build doesn't have enough hit in it then you failed at making a char really. Focus should have given Crit Bonus's in my mind. They created 2 useless skills that should at the least have been combined.


Of the 4 solo/support songs Bards get ALL are quite useful. Ranking in the order of Magic Strings, Song of Lutie, Impressive Rift and Perfect Tablature. Now while PT isn't great it does have SOME usefullness for others in PvM.

Of the 4 solo/support dances Dancers get ONLY 2 are useful being Gypsies Kiss and Slow Grace. Focus and Lady Luck at the least should have been combined to 1 useless skill and maybe it would be halfway decent.


LOL really really sorry about the rant. Just annoys the hell out of me. I like to experience all that a char can do and seeing just totally useless skills annoys me.
