So what does "All-Purpose Guild" mean? It means that we participate in almost any feature of the game you can think of. PvP, PvM, MVP, (if you're interested in WoE, see below), random games, and of course, just hanging out and chatting! We just want to have some fun on a game we love. In addition, we've tried to add some of our own fun to the game: we have our own unique, custom quest board for when you need to take a break from that endless grind or want to rank up in-guild!

Rules, Requirements, and Other Stuff
Rules -
We only have seven simple rules:
1) Adhere to the rules of iRO and WarpPortal.
2) The use of illegal third-party programs, hacking, and otherwise illegally exploiting the game are strictly prohibited.
3) Don't spam guild chat with nonsense.
-----As this rule may be slightly unclear, I detail it here: "Nonsense" here means spamming the guild chat with random strings (like "asjdfhasjdhfad") all the time or repeating the same thing over and over (like saying "heal please" every 3 seconds) or overall disrupting an ongoing conversation by incessantly typing in meaningless strings of numbers and letters. "Nonsense" does not include your everyday random conversations (=D), unless you are purposefully trying to disrupt ongoing conversation. And one more thing...

4) Respect everyone you meet, whether you like them or not.
5) Please, please, try not to start drama.
6) Please respect and do not try to undermine the guild model. This includes the rank-up by points, customized guild quests, and website/forum security features. They will not be removed.

Requirements -
We have active and open recruitment as space provides, so as long as you're active and can communicate in English, you're welcome to join with your main or an alt. The usage of languages other than English is allowed, even encouraged, as many of our members like to play around with language. Most active members are from North America, ranging GMT -8 to GMT -5.
Guild Tax -
The default guild tax is 0%. This means that unless you specifically request for tax, your character will never be taxed unexpectedly.
Specific Classes We're Looking For -
As we are trying to get re-established after almost 3/4ths of a year of inactivity, we are looking for pretty much all classes. All classes of all levels are welcome. We are also searching for people who are willing to 50% tax to help the guild grow quickly.
Alternative Characters -
As stated above, you may join the the guild with your main or an alt. However, having alternative characters in addition to your first character in the guild is a privilege granted to those who are exceptionally active or whose main guild is Shadows of Winter.
Ranks and Quest Board-
You can advance through the ranks by earning rank points awarded through simple achievements like level and tax benchmarks. In addition to benchmarks, we feature a Quest Board system of special guild quests for the ambitious or if you just need a distraction from the grind!
Custom Titles -
Unfortunately, due to the guild, quest board, and ranking models, we cannot simply hand out custom titles to those who ask. You will need to earn a custom title if you want one.
Type of Guild -
Shadows of Winter is an All-Purpose Guild. See a feature you wanna try in RO? Let us know, and we'll try to do it. In addition, we're interested in providing a friendly environment to offer leveling help, build advice, a place to hang out, and overall a fun RO experience. We don't ask anything in return for helping you out except that you help the guild and other members. Help us help each other with even the smallest bit of assistance, basically.
War of Emperium -
War of Emperium is not one of the main purposes of this guild, although we may occasionally participate. As such, it is never mandatory to attend WoE, to farm items and equipment, or anything like that. WoE is purely optional. Please keep in mind that because of the "on-a-whim/screwing around" nature of our WoE participation, certain benefits of participating in WoE may not be feasible for us.
Events -
If you want to do something, please don't be afraid to ask and we'll do our best to plan it as soon as possible! As the guild goes on, we may even start adding weekly events!
Expulsion Policy -
1) For those who only have one character in the guild: your character will not be removed unless you become severely inactive without notifying the guild leader.
2) For those who have two or more characters in the guild: keep in mind that even if your main guild is Shadows of Winter, if you are not active, your alternative character(s) may be removed in the interest of making space for new members. If you continue to be inactive without notifying the guild leader, your main character will be removed as well.
3) You will be removed if you are found to have broken any of the rules stated above.
---a. You will be removed and reported to Warp Portal Staff if you are found to have been using any illegal third party programs.
4) You will be removed if you are found to be in any way detrimental to the well-being of the guild.
5) All guild members must have a corresponding account on the official guild website. Those who do not have a corresponding account will be removed.

1. Is recruitment limited only to certain classes?
No. All classes are welcome to join Shadows of Winter.
2. Do I need to be a certain level to join?
No. Players of all levels are welcome to join the guild, whether you're an experienced player, a relatively new player, or a completely new player.
3. Do you WoE?
We do not WoE on a regular basis, nor do we make WoE our purpose. Please see the War of Emperium section above.
4. Do you have ET runs?
As of now, we do not. We are building our numbers, levels, and classes so that we can have ET runs. We do plan to have them in the future.
5. Do you hunt high-tier MVPs?
Not right now, because we're still building our numbers, levels, and class. We will hunt MVPs of all tiers in the future.
6. Will you help me level?
Because we are an all-purpose guild, helping our members level is one of our goals. However, please understand that sometimes, even multiple days in a row, we will not be able to help you level, especially around Christmas/New Years. Helping our members level generally consists of even-share parties, not leeching. You should expect to be leveling on your own power every once in a while.
7. Will you give me super items or money for joining?
No.
8. Can I have my own custom title?
In Shadows of Winter, custom titles are earned, not given. You will rank up based on the "rank points" you obtain according to your level, your class, the amount of tax you donate to the guild, and the points you obtain by completing our guild's custom quests. Once you've reached a certain number of points, you will be able to have your own custom title.

If you're interested in joining us, please follow the link above to the guild website. At the guild website, register for a Guild Launch account, then fill out an application to join the guild. Once your guild application has been read and accepted, you will be contacted either in-game or on the Warp Portal forums to be invited to the guild. All potential members of the guild must go through the application process, regardless of whether you came here through the forums or were first invited into the guild prior to submitting an application.
