Meanwhile I'm studying renewall stuff. I'm a pre-renewall player so I have so much to learn.

This has never happened to me. When I had trouble with RO I always had it fixed in 2 hours max. I'm really frustrated, please help me!

I still can't figure out what's the problem! RO has worked before on this notebook. I tried reinstalling the driver and this popped up:

Okay - When you run Setup in the RO folder, is there anything selected in the top two menus? You need an option selected in both of the top two menus.

My guess is that there is not; that's usually what "Cannot init d3d or grf has problem" means (it's the cannot init d3d part, because there's no graphics rendering mode or resolution selected).

If there's nothing selected there, try to select something from them. (If you have a graphics driver problem, and then fix it, you still need to go into setup and select the newly-available option)

If there are no options on one or both of those menus, then it's a problem with your installation of DirectX or graphics drivers.

So check this first, and we'll go from there.

I have encountered this problem before and spent a good few hours to get it fix.

All you need to do is reinstall DirectX > Test RO > If still fails > Reinstall video driver > Test RO > Profit

You forgot a step. RO is not smart enough to realize that drivers have changed and edit the settings to use the newly-available options (even when there is currently no option selected, as the case almost certainly is if you're getting this error), you have to do that manually.

I think I reinstalled 3 times the driver and DirectX but I didn't know that I had to check the setup (: Thank you very much! I asked in 3 forums and you were the only one that was able to help me! Thanks again (:
