Personally I was hoping the elements would be like what RO has where you can use a potion that gives the effect for a set duration :x

I never played RO, but do u mean like. ex. You use Curse Potion and gives gives u liek 20% Curse atk for like 2 hrs?

IIRC (and I'm not sure if this works in our server or not), they can use the resting EXP buffs from the MyHome stuff to get resting EXP even after level 60.
