How do you edit screenshots to make them look all HD like? I remember it used to be with Hues, Saturations, Sharpness, and crap...but I can't remember the best looking levels and I'm far from a graphics guy. Any help?
How do you...

This may not be terribly helpful, but in case you didn't know, if you're going to use one for editing, make sure you hold down control while you take it so it saves as a slightly higher quality bitmap image instead of the easily distorted jpeg.

With Photoshop I've done it in the past using Hue/Saturation Layer masks as well as messing with the Vibrance as well I believe. Not so much sharpness.

I edit mine with my mind.
But no for real. If you're using Photoshop, I suggest not using Contrast, but use instead Levels. You can access it by hitting Ctrl and M. You can add a nice sense of depth by changing the lights and darks in this manner and it offers much more control than Contrast can give you.
Also, Levels and be set on certain color channels. In this way you don't need to blindly adjust the Saturation, you can bring out only certain colors if you wish (which, generally, gives you a much nicer effect).
Also, Sharpening isn't necessarily bad. Give it a try, and play with Sharpen Edges, it will give you a nice definition on the sprites without completely mangling the pixels.

Yeah, I think it's better to dump the screencaps as BMP (as Sera said), then editing it with Photoshop.
It may lead to better results, I think .
I mean, BMP is like a "pure" format while the default JPG is compressed, hence the slight quality loss.
