Okay, so I was told that a wand/shield is better then a staff but I don't get why.... here are the stats between both weapons.
(Keep in mind this was down with a +0 shield with no enchants. I will also list the stats of shield.

+0 L55 Shield +14 INT (If you could also explain what INT is for.. Does it add magic DMG? if so I will conduct another test with a + 20 shield and add INT Xeons

+20 L55 Wand with +8 to Min and +8 to Max

My "Magic Attack Power" is 144-161

+20 L55 Staff with +7 To Min and +8 to Max

My "Magic Attack Power" is 131-207

Any feed back in welcome

Dont go by magic attack power, I never even look at that stat.

3 int = 1 magic dmg.

Yes.

Also 5 INT = 1 SCAD, as well as gives you some resistance. (Square root of total INT=Base)

And even tho staff has a higher base max, it has a huge dmg range so you need to think how often it will hit at max dmg.

i think someone did a comparison for staff v wand/shield and said that on average, w/s did more dmg. that and w/s gives you more slots to enchant. if you're cheap and using carus grade gear, staves are good to quickly gain high stats since you only need to reinf 1 item. in the long run and for serious players, w/s is preferred.

Wand, because of the magic shield. The little def % does help in pve, since you'll be tanking a lot of mobs.

I see thanks all for the in put, like I said I did do it w.o a +0 shield so I will be making a +20 - 25 shield (Unless I find someone selling a +30 with all INT enchants and I will then compare so thanks.

depends on your build, gear, class, etc....

and more specifically, DEPENDS ON WHICH WAND, WHICH SHIELD AND WHICH STAFF.

For the standard mob-dropped items,
  • Wands have INT or Skill Crit %
  • Magic shields have INT or MP Recovery
  • Staves have MND or Skill Critical Additional Damage

IMO up til L65 when boss equipment is available, you should be using a wand with Skill Crit %, with an MP Recovery shield if you run out of MP often, or and INT shield if not.

While using all INT equipment will give you higher base damage, I think crit rate is more important. Wands and staffs have roughly the same average magic damage so don't worry about that.

As mentioned, the shield's block defence will help you when killing mobs, and if you're getting hit a lot enchant defence into it rather than INT as this will help you survive a lot!
