I have seen too many players dying by Naga. It Its most deadly skill is "WATERBALL" its level 9 and it is even more deadly when naga is in the water.

Heed and spread the word of advice to your fellow party mates.

should wear a valk shield ( any valk shield, brutal would be best) and an aqua armor its swordfish card. Yes a wind armor would reduce the damage by only 10% ( see the element chart in irowiki) additionally carefree water drop brooch ( kafra bloosom) or glorious rings.

If you find any gear restrictive ( cant wear shields due to 2 handed weapon) try for alternatives which offer % reduction against water property attack.
Remember the main and most deadly skill is waterball of naga.

I would add too if you're a sorcerer, scholar, or sage you can hotkey magic rod and when it targets you with waterball spam that key and you will just absorb it. Not for everyone but helpful.

Swordfish carded armor is all you really need. Nothing more than that if you just want to tank Waterball. An Orc Warrior carded shield is also recommended. People who are already 3rd class can't have the excuse to say they can't afford such basic equips for leveling purposes like this.

I took my Mechanic, put water armor, a Glorious Ring and a Nid garment on him and tried to solo Nagas, no shield. I took about 150s from each waterball. Why are people complaining about the difficulty of that map, it's really not the map's fault that people die so much. Different gears and cards exist for a reason.

Wool Scarf and Tidal combo by itself is at least 5 times more expensive than a single Swordfish card...

I had previous experience with Nagas so I had a water armor and never died. Many of my party members on the other hand... usually dropped in 1 Waterball and kept pulling anyway. >_>

Were they all wearing asprikas? cause asprika doesn't work on nagas

The prices of the Wool/Tidal combo has indeed dropped in price after so long. Doesn't mean they're not expensive anymore though. You gotta keep in mind as to where they come from.

Swordfish hasn't really gone up in price though, as the greater majority of decent players should have gotten one by now. Demand will be fairly low, therefore prices won't rise as much. Swordfish card became a pretty useful card the moment Renewal hit. So a lot of the demand has been taken care of since then. It's a staple for many MVP'ers and it was fairly common and cheap to get for general purposes anyways.

Bring a Hiding Accessory. Use Hide immediately while taking Water Ball damage so the Nagas will stop casting it at you.

Well that didnt work so well for many ppl in party. with the lag and all i am pretty sure once the hit animation starts its hard to escape it.

you just need aqua armor lol, it doesn't require any more than that... or any convultued belittling toward the community. That's why.

I do see what you mean in a sense, its pretty overboard to have this many water reduction items, which is usually needed for say drake's water ball which is real painful and lasts very long. But I also feel this advice is good for members who do not know. I do feel however somewhere in the post it should say "Only nessessary is water armor, everything else above and beyond just helps prevent a little more damage"

True i am just trying to list all the alternatives. Like you are suddenly in a party and you don't have time to search the market and quickly find an aqua armor. if you have rest of the other gear , you could use them too.

Convolutions , Distortions of tone aside. IMHO a little information sharing with players dying would help the party go faster and would be nice on your part.
