Since theres that "floodCount" and "floodTime" Variable, I didn't expect every single line is getting analyzed, which doesn't make sense at all. Aber danke Sheckley.

You really don't know what you're talking about. If the spammer issue could have been solved by iRO it would have been solved years go but as it is iRO can NOT modify the client or server directly, only kRO can do that.

If you would read my comment carefully, you would figure my idea doesn't involve any modification on the ragnarok client, nor on the server. Not ANY.

AFAIK that method was already WIP with the guy running ropd (or was it ragial) but got somehow "cancelled".

floodCount and floodTime are some variables which are used by the flood protection, this protection count the messages a user is sending to you in a specifiv time (the time of floodTime). If it is higher than floodCount your client will block this person for the time of ignoreDuration.

This helps also with the most Spambots, but some of them are too slow, if you don't modify it. (But the chat filtering is better against spam, if you work with it)

If you still don't know what you should add to the nospam.cfg, feel free to pm me :dunno:

Ok for some reason spam bots are now getting through with words specifically on my block list.

It has just started happening in the last day or so in Pront and Payon anyone know how they are getting around it?

Send me a PM with the terms that you're blocking that they are getting past, please. Copy/paste the list of blocked words you have in your nospam.

i believe its a timing issue i was having the same problem and i messed around with the timing and it seems to be working you just have to be more specific in your phrases so you dont block out friends.

floodCount - Number of messages that an individual is allowed to send without any delay. Default: 5

If I understand it correctly, it will take 5 repeated messages before nospam kicks in? So if I set to 1, it'll be instantaneous? And in 0 (zero) will disable it?

Yes nearly correct

Only the repeated messages have to be in a time interval (floodTime), then the person will get ignored by your client.

We block zeny buyers by the dozens weekly. The problem is that people who get caught for this aren't exactly going to be telling their friends that they got suspended and encourage them not to do it.

Funny how its the same companies selling Zeny from many years ago, wonder what that means...

I'm vip and is nice when something is being done about game issues, it took me 2 minutes to type 3 words and now pront is spam free. If the gm's or the community can provide solutions (either short or long term) like this instead of gm's telling the players "we are working on it" there would be more of a sense that something is actually being done. Long story short, thanks to whoever came up with this. :no1:

Looking at this, I have to say that it's a good start. However, I'd like to know if there are any plans to implement user-input wildcards (or even better, full-on regular expressions). Having that sort of option open would be really helpful, and not to mention, since we only have 64 phrase slots, we should try to use them judiciously. Even having a wildcard for one character and another for any number of characters would make this config list at least twice as powerful and useful, since we can then specify entire phrase structures to be blocked instead of individual words that may end up shutting friends out.

The new version will have all this and more.

It's surprising that you are shipping a 3rd-party 'hack' with the Ragexe rather than asking GRAVITY to add this feature built-in to the client or AEGIS.

It not only generates recvpackets.txt used for botting but also parses and processes all the data sent and received, together with all the key presses and the game window activity, thus increasing latency and making the client less responsive.

Now it's been 8 months since this thread was posted and I doubt it would take that much to request this simple feature that could be added in less than 20 minutes by anyone with access to the source code.
