Was just wondering as to the popularity of manga, especially compared to anime.
I feel a top 8 format would work here, but wouldn't be surprised if some people had not read 8 different mangas.
1. Azumanga Daioh! (this manga really got me though some dark times, there will always be a place in my heart)
2. I Am Here! (OMG Sumino is just the sweetest girl ever, really cute and touching story)
3. Fruits Basket (obligatory top three, who knew manga could be deep and emotional)
4. Gakuen Alice (gives Harry Potter a run for its money, gets so serious later on, surprisingly dark at times)
5. Battle Angel Alita (she's my hero, the artwork is stunning)
6. Museum of Terror (OMG I have never gotten the chills from a book until I read the Waterfall chapter)
7. Spice and Wolf (such detailed set pieces, intrigue, drama, who knew economics could be so compelling?)
8. Yotsuba!& (I have literally laughed out loud reading these books, Azuma is some kind of comic genius)
Honorable mention to Gunsmith Cats, Old Boy, Berserk, Uzemaki: I have not read far enough to compare them to the other series
Chobits had such a hugely disappointing second half it doesn't get ranked

Finally pulled myself away from Skyrim long enough to eat a real meal.
