Ok when I first started reading up on the Sorcerer skills I noticed that ALL their Spells had your Int determining the damage and NOT your MAtk rating.

Yet I see a big difference in damage of PWave when I use a Soul Staff(3k per wave) to say a Principles of Magic (2k per wave) Or Fortune Sword (1.5k and worn for the PDodge ofc).


I mean when you read PWaves damage formula it says:

This skill is highly effected by the user's INT. This skill can have its element changed through Level 2 Passive Summon buffs.

Possible damage formula : MATK % per wave [(SkillLv * 70 + Int * 3) * BaseLv/100]


Does NOT say your MAtk is added on to this anywhere.

So do all Sorc skills have the same thing? Does your weapon MAtk really count perhaps just as much as your Int? (considering with no weapon I did half the damage I did with a +7 SStaff).


I had really thought Sorc was going to be a king of Flashback to when stats mattered like in Pre Renewal. Thought I was actually going to be able to wear shields to survive while dealing big damage :angel: :rofl: :chat:

All damage formulas, unless if they deal fixed amount of damage (things like Thorn Trap and Spore Leech), act as a multiplier for ATK or MATK. For example, sorcerer's Psychic Wave will deal [(SkillLv * 70 + Int * 3) * BaseLv/100]% MATK per wave.

Thorn staff only seems to be really good though if you can get the darn thing upto +10.

Currently using a Soul Staff & Spiritual Ring combo with a +7 CoD.

^At +7 i find it is good enough for me. The difference between +9 and 10 is only 10% faster cast and 17 more matk.

Yes... most sorc spells are influenced by INT... therefore increasing INT is somehow better than increasing %MATK... not so similar to what happen to Warlocks where %MATK influence more than +MATK hence INT as well.

Always go 120 base int as a sorc.
