It probably has more to do with the new episode or the new costume tab update, than with some extra measure to stop the bots. Since charas now can have extra gear on, that is extra info, or maybe some packets changed, and bots need to change in order to work with that. Big updates sometimes stop the bots for a few hours or days.

edit: It looks like Valky server can reach 2300 charas logged in without bots, cool xP

This update screwed the bot's ability to perform character select. Until they get fixed, the bot can only access character slot 0.

Here's what bot users are encountering on the bot program's forums:

Costume update bug is the best thing that ever happened in the game for the past 6 months.

it literally amazes me that they can stop bots UNINTENDED but not the other way around, even temporarily.
Kinda like master[gravity] put new eating system to slaves[players] to charge slaves more money per meal but in the process this new eating system unintendedly stopped pests that hindered slaves from eating their meals which slaves have been forever begging to help remove but master ignored and laughed in their faces. Now slaves are praising their master for their nonexistant generosity and become more docile and ignorant than ever, and criticize people who actually sees this way as ungrateful, complaining losers.

It's a trivial matter to fix sadly. Luckily most of them aren't up to date with the patching. As soon as they saw the new jobname file being pushed out on the patch servers, they should have known what's coming.

Does this start of the names cut off thing happen to only bots? Because I saw someone chatting and the first four characters of their name were cut off in chat, then I remembered this thread and now I'm suspicious...
