Can you main a Mechanic? I'm seriously considering moving to Ymir on account the majority of successful players from my other thread said they reside there.
Like how difficult are they in PvM, PvP, WoE? I want a viable class, and I've heard a lot of mix feelings about them. It's one of only two classes I haven't tried, the other being a ninja. I imagine being a merchant is slow going, but when you become a smith do things pick up, they have a lot of interesting buffs, they make da money, but are they just money makers are a viable class?

WHAT A JOKE
by no means are mechanics a money making class, they are a money spending class
They are most prob the hardest class to play

Basic gear youll need is ridewood, nyd, 2x snowier cards, pile bunker and most shields, giant axe/hurricane fury and doomslayer

merchant can be one of the fastest leveling classes if you just spam mammo and white potions, i suggest getting used to how much zeny this class drains before you get to far.

pvp, they suck unless u just keep spamming self destruct
woe, well they are here and there in woe, 5min cooldown on mado renter sucksballz, hscr hardly kills players and with so many disable and aoe precasts you die easy

pvm, depends on build... arm cannon mado is easy to level due to using pile/shields and repair... axe tornado is alot harder due to low sp pools and having no shield but at least you can greed up your icecreams from snowiers cards.

It is possible to main a mech but there are 2 things you need.

1) a +7 minimum giant axe of hurricane fury
2) a gear that generates SP when you kill stuff.

I main a mech currently.
Why, greed.
Yes, through all the short comings of pre-balance mechanics it was greed that helped me to endure it.
I've made stupid amounts of zeny from greeding all those random consumable that people are usually too lazy
pick up.

PvM
To level and kill effectively you need 2 seperate strategies: a low level one (under 130) and a high level one (130+)
Axe tornado will get you to the 130s. It's boring single skill spam way of leveling but damage and resources wise
it's the best way to go. At higher levels when monster HP often averages 30k plus, you will need to switch to Mado.
It's hard to boost axe torando damage, even with gods, to match the HP of what you will want to kill.
Arm cannon, ice launcher are currently my prefered attacks.

PvP
1v1 is where a mechanic shines unmounted
You can kill everybody but sura if you know what you are doing-sura will eat you like a ygg berry
Mechanics can get a lot of aspd with out much agi investment.
Cart Ram is still good if you are spamming it at 188+ aspd with full cart. You will kill squishies.
I like to use a Quad dark priest mace with shattering strike for the lulz

In mado you can kill everybody rather easily if you keep your distance and avoid overheating.
You can alway hover/mag field/suicidal destruction too for even more lulz.

WoE
I haven't gotten to woe with new mech buffs but I'm planning to support and disable. I like ice launcher with
a quad sleep mace. Unmounted all you can really do is break emps and splash status with axe tornado.
