Seriously guys, you need to calm down about this, don't be so negative just because the damage of the skill's got nerfed, not all the strategy is just cast to deal damage to enemy's, be more smart, anyway u can't do nothing if the skills got nerfed...look the positive side, The warlock's are not the only one who got nerfed, the other classes got nerfed too lol.

So please don't complain about this, i have my own WL and still happy about of that and i'm even noob WL, so what?, you're complaining about this?.
The WL are not so good at start but u will seem the true powers of WL until 120 up.

Keep it up with your WL you did the Warlock job change quest, and it was really hard.

Don't just give it up because your character skills got nerfed, that's just drop off the towel withouth fight enough.

it's exacly the inverse, WL are good 100~110 and fall from there because most monsters u lvl from there:
one most demon/agel etc
two have boss AI[so inmmunity freezing/frozen
three the WL damage is so low that is less then 40% of the monsters HP, u can't really solo.
if it's not one is 2 or 3 of these, at last one are true mostly

We can't touch bosses, so we're worthless in both MVP and instance play.
We kill at slower than melee speed, yet are much easier to kill, and the one status effect that had any chance of partially making up for it no longer works in any form of PvM play.
Combine these and we're a waste of a party slot anywhere that isn't WoE. TIs are the exception, but that's ONLY because all of the exp in those is the turn in, so it's impossible to be a waste of xp unless you're AFK.

Sure, other classes got nerfed, but it was scaling down overpowered skills to be balanced in power with mid-tier classes - hence, "balance patch".

In the lock's case, they took a class that was already of questionable PvM value at best, and reduced them even further.

Is Sienna Execrate a PVP / WoE enabled skill only? I just it recently because it sounded like a good skill to get, but I can't use it in PVM environments...I was hoping it could be used if I soloed anywhere on my lock.

If it was changed to PVP / WoE only, I have no idea where it ever said that.......I'm standing here in Amatsu trying to use it on random monsters outside of town with no success. Not sure if I want this in my build, since I only WoE very occasionally :x

EDIT: Does using it require any catalyst of any sort? I haven't read anywhere that it does, but just in case, I'll ask around here.

Sienna's pretty ineffective in PvM because of monsters' high MDEF so its real potential shows mostly in PvP/WoE. In end-game PvM, there are so many high leveled mobs with have high mdef that they can resist it easily. Bifrost mobs are even worse because they are 100% immune to it.

It requires 1 Red Gemstone per cast as a catalyst even though it doesn't mention it in-game. Without it, the skill will always fail.

Ah ok, so it *does* need a catalyst....was thinking it might, as just ol' Stone Curse needed one as well. It neither says it in game, nor does the iroWiki mention it, so good to hear from someone about that detail.

I suppose it isn't horrible to have some in my build, since on the occasions that I would WoE, it would be good to bust it out so I could stop people / save myself so I could run away and regroup. I'll keep it in for now, and if I find myself really, *REALLY* needing the skill points for something else, I can reskill if absolutely necessary. We'll see.

Thanks so much for answering though! Good to know more about the skill /ok

having some cards out there that allow warlocks abilities to ignore a certain ammount of MDef (NOT ALL OF IT like the MVP Card...) a lot of these problems would be resolved
or cards that increase spell damage by more than 5% to a particular ability.

The problem is that the MDEF curve goes up more than FIVE TIMES the rate of the PDEF one - 112 MDEF = 600 PDEF.

Let's take Gloom Under Night, an MVP that was specifically designed to be a caster-friendly target pre-Renewal. He has 65% magic damage reduction. Even if cards let us pierce HALF of his resistance, he'd still have about 55% reduction, before applying int. Melee would continue to laugh at the damage.
If they went the other way, and gave us +50% spell damage, well... we're only doing 35% to start. +50% gives us 52%.

With massive MDEF + melee skills have no appreciable cooldowns, the deck is stacked against us. Then they released the new gear, and the gap only widened. Everyone else gets large damage boosts with little to no drawbacks. We get a small to moderate boost with huge drawbacks.

Sienna's catalyst always has been 2 red gemstones... it's in the skill description or it was there pre-balance patch...

It's the same as Comet... always uses 2 red gemstone regardless it works or not...

Hello Everyone!

Well, I'm not a pvp player but a pvm player, and theses changes when you see the PVM (MVP) side, these changes will be a greate problem for us whe leveling 100~150 or just a "don't worry too much, the bosses and some MVPs still will fear you".

How to get around this problem (nerfs) as a pvm player? suggestion?

Obs: I'm not an english speaker, so please sorry any grammar mistakes.
