ROSE Refine Simulator v1.2b

So what is this? Well, I felt extremely bored the other day, so I have decided to create this random refining application and I wanted to throw it at the public.

It has an automatic and a manual refining function. The manual function lets you start each refining process manually just like the in game refining. The automatic function lets you tell the application the amount of attempts you want(up to 5000) and it will keep refining until it reaches the refining goal or until it reaches the amount of attempts you have set for it. You can also chose to stop auto refining manually by clicking on the stop button. The refining success chances are the same as the chances in game.

Upon failure the item will break/degrade according to the current refine level. You can choose to use Plutorunes to prevent breaking and reduce degrade amount by 1. You can also lets you do safe refining which means that upon failure the item will not degrade/break. Degrading values are different for Item Mall and Normal items. Attempts that resulted in breaking will set the current refine level back to (0).

I appreaciate any kind of feedback be it bug reports or suggestions for additional features.

I am running it under Win7, got errors, then tried to run as XP SP3, but got the same error:

"00,0" is an invalid float.

Press OK to ignore and risk data corruption.
Press Cancel to kill the program

Hope this helps debug it.

It's not a problem if you only get one window, because the screenshots are about the same window in 2 different modes.

Before you get the error, what exactly are you trying to change?

I tried running it both under Win7 and XP, but I was unable to recreate the error. Every feature seems to be working and I am not getting any error when changing any of the values.

Edit: Are you getting the error when starting, or while the application is already running?

Working now, thank you.

One thing, once you get it to a 4 and it fails, I thought it stayed as a 4, doesnt it?

The application has the game's wonderful degrade effect implemented, so failing in the simulator is like failing in ROSE. The failure effect is displayed on the client window. It can either degrade by 1, degrade by 2, or break(drops back to 0) or nothing happens based on the current refine level.

Good news! The next version will allow you to make difference between Item Mall items and normal items.

This feature along with a feature that allows you to disable degrading/breaking will be implemented in the 1.1 version which will be released as soon as possible.

The comma is supposed to be that, because in my country we use commas, while in other countries they use dots... It's one silly thing. Actually this is what caused v1.0 to not work in certain countries, so I had to change the way the percentages are calculated.

As for how accurate it is, the application uses the base percentage values which I have found on the respective Wiki Page. That value then is increased by the value in the Catalyst Chance field(s).

What exactly do you mean by "bigger"? :P

Btw, the next version will include the following changes.

v1.1
  • Item Mall option has been added
  • Safe Refining option has been added
  • Stop button has been added to auto refining
  • Maximum number of attempts in auto refining has been increased to 5000 up from 1000
  • Armor/Weapon switch was moved to a different position

I will consider increasing the client window size the next time I add changes. Thank you for your suggestion! :P
