Hey I'm working on making a sage, and a friend suggested that I try a hindsight sage. I wanted to ask is that build any good?

Ideally you would want a linker spouse on another account to buff yourself. So that might help you decide whether you want a caster or hindsighter. Both are decent.

Hindsight build is fun to play.

But if you do or do not have a linker affects what gear you need.

I'd be happy to suggest a build for whatever your situation is if you decide hindsight is for you.

Well my spouse has a level 90 something linker so I suppose I could ask for help, but that linker is married to my priest so marrying it is out of the question. I just really have no clue about sages and I just decided to make one and I don't know what build is a good one. I don't really think I want to go support sage just because being a FS priest is one reason my priest hasen't gone HP yet ^^; (have no clue where to find a party and level xD). But if you can suggest some builds that would be wonderful!

Well hindsight sages can be fun to play, but if you don't have a linker you'll need a bit of
up-front gear investment to fill the damage void from casting lower level bolts.

You will need a clip of cast (phen card) and I highly recommend taking dagger of counter (90% crit)as
your primary weapon.

For stats
You will see some people with 99int, 99agi. But this isn't practical for a linker-less hindsighter.
I recommend the following:

STR 1-30
AGI 80-90
VIT 20-30
INT 80-90
DEX 40-50
LUK 1

With this int/dex ratio you can still level as a caster, bolting random monsters as needed until you accumulate
the flee and gear needed to be an effective hindsighter once you reach the 80s.

For starting out gears I recommend the following budget options:
-Undershirt/Panties
-Guard of Comfort (muscipular card)
-Clip of Hail (Gazeti Card)

This way you can effectively level without investing tons of zenys into a class you aren't sure
you'll enjoy.

For spells you will be taking:

Level 10 of cold/fire/lightning bolt
Level 4 water/fire endow
Freecast 10

There are other things you need for pre-reqs but there are too many to list.

I also recommend taking frost driver as a defensive spell. If you get mobbed with more monsters
than you can handle it's nifty to freeze them and escape or kill them later. Fireball can
also be very useful on certain maps.

Depends, you want to level that sage up to 99 and forget about it? Use the guide above me, that should work.

Now, if you want to play it as a Sorcerer all the way up to 150 like me? I could give you a few hints. I found nearly no help on how to make it work past the 100 point, the learning curve as steep, and I spent a lot on Resets. I am 140, levelled the Sorcerer up to 140 without Foresight, and I am still not sure on how to finish it.

I'd consider that as grounds for divorce. :> Or make a new one on an empty slot.

My sorc is like 140/50. Only reasons he's not 150 is my own laziness
(and spellfist getting the nerf stick).

I'm more than happy to give long term advice for anyone that needs it.
