In recent days that ive been trying to play... the game seemed more laggy.. i have even gone as to replace my MODEM

i am running cable internet w/ 350 kbps... and i alt+tab to occasionally refresh the browser to google.com to see if my connection is slowing down.. but it isnt :/ and my new modem is pretty fresh and new and never had any internet disconnection (but RO disconnects ALOT!)

so its not my connection at fault..

Pls help me pin down the problem here... thanks!

Game Experience: I die a lot from lag... i lose 200K+ exp which is pretty annoying, and turns me off from playing

Note: i don't know how to look at tracert

I lag on this server as well... it is kinda annoying.. If it's happening to a lot of people I guess it's not my
wireless internet? O.o?

I always blamed my little bit of lag on my wireless internet being lame

I have a lot of lag coming from warpportal ISP as well. I been sending in my tracert to support. You should do the same thing, so they can use it and complain to their ISP. In the mean time, you can use lower ping free trial to play for about 30mins with much lesser lag before it dc you.

You can also try AVG tune up, its free aswell and it helped out my computer a bit XD

That'll help with computer speed problems and maybe a little bit with ping speed but I don't think the problem is with my ISP speed or my computer. The problem seems to come from those ntt server. Any other games or thing I do is work perfectly fine and the tracert shows this.

the prob isnt your pc or your isp, is the Ragnarok Server, ppl outside of US frequetly have massive lag, some days is really impossible to play and other are a little better but still have lag, when i click on a npc it took around 2-5sec for the window to open and is impossible to me to do woe

I believe that Heim stated that people have been constantly using DDoS attacks against the servers. Nothing much the GMs can do here.

For Philippines <-> west coast USA, that's about par for the course.

er i m from the uk and after the renewal patch it become so smooth until i taught i was playing in the europe server

last time i was having like 3 second lag

but why? thats iabsurd... why would some ppl do such a stupid thing?

i can relate to the others... i have delay of 2-5 seconds...

Also @above, you'd be amazed at how bitter boys can get when they live in their mothers basement until their 30 and have no other social contact (other than MMO's/forums lol).

Also if lowerping resolves the problem then it obviously isnt RO servers, as lowerping doesnt bypass those

Yeah, I jump into the 248-280ms range when I hop to the ntt servers.

Just checked, and I have a 107 ping to LA from where I live, 9.64Mbps speedtest, 0 packet loss 5ms Jitter pingtest. It's not me.

I guess my question is, can Warpportal not afford another ~$300/mo for DDOS protection? Seeing as this happens a bit more than it should?

Or maybe they need a better isp...

I mean, in theory they make more money via cash shop microtransactions than they ever did on the subscription model so... yeah.

Insert conspiracy theory on them doing this to force us to pay for wtfast. (Even though that wouldn't help when it's their servers and not us)

Are you sure? I just submitted a few through out the day, even got a reply in less than 30 mins to them, thats better than a pizza delivery service

It isn't the server itself, but the ISP that warpportal uses for us to connect to the server is the problem. Warpportal is a user of the internet just like us. It seems like they are cutting the cost of spending money on internet services and went with a cheap one(Not sure about this but seems like it). Lowerping/WTFast is a services that let us route through their servers and right into the game server, which bypasses all the crappy server from warpportal or yours or connection servers ISP. All story short it gives you a better ping through their own server. Can't really blame them for their ISP faults but can indirectly blaming them for a bad choice.
