Friends you have online are not by a long shot friends you have in real life, it's a joke to say that. And getting married through an MMO is such a rare occurrence, maybe not to someone whose job is managing an MMO. And this is a terrible game for making friends, I can still name all the people I've gotten to know in game and they quit for whatever reason.
These threads are meaningless, do people even read others' bios? My first post was the two other threads just like this because we already forgotten how frequently these worthless threads pop up.
Threads like this are fun as long as people don't share too much information. With facebook and everything, you never know when you might pick up a stalker or two.
People aren't really your friends if they just abandon you by quitting and not saying anything. Let's face it, most people probably won't stick around for a long time, but you have to enjoy the times that you did have with them.
Meaningful friendships and relationships can happen online and you should only be disappointed if that's what you're specifically looking for.
One of my best friends irl met someone and married them from RO and she lived in Sweden.
It does work out for some people and I have friends that I met online who I would do ANYTHING for.
As for RO, it has the most close knit communities of any game I have ever played and that's what I always liked the most about it.
