Not sure if this is a bug, really...? But this has been happening to me both on Ymir and Yggdrasil servers. I try to make a party and I go through 10 or 12 unique names before I resort to keysmashing, because it keeps telling me the party name already exists. Is the game not disbanding parties when all members have left or what? I find it difficult to believe there are really that many people on Ygg/Ymir who are currently in parties with the names I'm choosing.

Maybe next maint needs to include a forcible party wipe, and reset the entire party list? I don't know how possible that is, or if that can be done without ruining guilds, but this is getting ridiculous.

I think they shortened the amount of letters you can put.

I've had this happen, too, going through a dozen names and giving up to go with keysmashing, though I didn't think to check for length. If it's just character limit, I hope they add a different message like 'Party name too long' (or, more preferable, 'Party name can only be X characters'). It would help clear up the confusion, I think.

So much sadness for the loss of many puns as party names, though.

Number spam is prettier, and people always ask me whose phone number that is...

But yeah, it's probably the name length.

People regged a bunch of party names to hold them after they reset the party system a few weeks ago - so it could just be "all the good ones are taken" syndrome.

After a while, even the ones that are easy to type by keymashing get taken!

It's amazing how fast the party name selection gets clogged. IMO the GMs should nuke all parties with only one person in them during every maint.

Less than 23? Because I still get the "Party name is too long" dialogue box if I try a party name over 23 characters long.

I agree with this. That would really help stop this from being an issue.

After a long time trying to figure out why my party name I'd used for two years was taken, along with every variation of it ranging from switching an L and i all the way to mashing out random letters in a similar format... I finally just started subtracting a letter off it each attempt.

The conclusion: Party names seem to be limited to 15 characters now, but the message says "already exists" instead of "too long".
