When I was playing Rose looong time ago, there was a build for a Cleric to get summons and buff them up with buffs. Later on, they made that you would get much less exp for killing mobs using summons. Is it still on? Or as a FS Muse/Cleric summons aren't viable here?

Summons probably take skill points you would otherwise use for support skills.

So if you use summons your not going to be a good support cleric.

Battle cleric is another story which I don't know much about :D

i think it steals some exp, taken a quite long pause from the game so don't remember everything. i think i tested killing a mob first with phantom sword and then without and you get less with it, i think. test yourself. anyway, it's awesome for lvling for sure anyway, since you will kill stuff alllloooot faster and if you're in party, espiaclly 10-50, you're going to lvl insanely fast.

remembered when you where totally overleved, like 5 lvls, at some hunting places but you stayed because to exp was still good since there where always parties there, like some water-ruin-place with some hydra like water lizard guys. sometimes there where 2-3 parties hunting in the same place and the whole screen was always flashing cuz' of all the spells. that's what i'm coming back for :3

You can be full support with all summons but it take points that you could add to additional defence or attack.

A possible reason for that is that you do more "overkill damage" than your phantom sword thus more exp.

digging up old posts ^^

And as lazysushi said the summons are likely to overkill thus giving you more exp!

Summons "stealing" xp is a thing from old ROSE years... it's not the case now, if you buff your summon, you surely will level fast... and no, they don't steal xp. They even have the same "powers" as your character, for example, my bourg is wearing sets giving +51% extra drop chance. If my Dread knight is killing a monster alone, that I DID NOT even hit with my bourg cannons.. it drops, and it even can make an extra drop !

It you're talking about Elverloon Dessert, no one parties there, or In Anima Lake at Aqua's anymore. Summons don't steal exp anymore, if they do, it's so small it's negligible.

and overkill exp got nerfed, it's capped at a lower % then it was before.
