Well, I'm not really new to RO, but I'll be coming back pretty soon (the sooner the better, just waiting on my paycheck to come in so I can reup my accounts, haha).

I started back here in 2004, and have come back every couple years out of nostalgia and have got the urge to play again recently.

I do have a few questions, however, that I'd like to get addressed while I'm waiting in limbo:
1. I've seen in a few topics people tell others to just dual client their own buff slave for buffing/warping purposes. So, is it possible to dual client here? I remember before you never were able to, and had to use more then one computer or some third party program (I guess, idk) to be able to dual. Do you still have to do that? Before it never mattered much since I'd be playing with my brother, so we could trade each other, but I'm planning on playing alone this time and having the option to level my priest (or just use it as a buff slave) while playing/leveling another character would be a big bonus. I only have one computer currently, so if it isn't possible to dual without the use of two computers.. eh, that's kinda lame but I could live with that.

2. There aren't a lot of bots Yimr, right? I was bored so I made a character on Valkyrie a little earlier, going archer, because I wanted to play in the meantime, and holy crap bot-fest much? Bwinged to Payon and there's a huge stream of Rogue bots (and a few others) heading to the south of payon map. I'm guessing someone DBed that map, which is why they kept dying and respawning and potting and running right back out to die again, which is funny, but seriously that's horrible. I remember there were a lot of bots back in 2004-2005 and stuff when I was playing more actively, but that was a given with the free trials and stuff. I'm really hoping the need to pay for the subscriptions deters a lot of the botters, because just the ~30 minutes it took me to get to archer (counting my stop at Willows right of Payon, which had it's own share of bots which is like wut?) was ridiculous in the amount of bots I saw. Granted, there were a FEW real people, but really...

3. Uh, well to state the obvious, iRO has changed a LOT in the past years. I remember how it was super hard/annoying to level back then (hello High Orcs.. to CT High orcs, or bathories, lol) and now it's like a cakewalk (anubis/thor/abyss/abbey or w/e, idk) in comparison. I'm just wondering, do people party still? Sounds lame, but I mean, do I have to get into a somewhat-decent guild before getting into any somewhat-decent parties so I can level quicker? I realize, for the higher-level partying places, bio3 or w/e, I'll probably need to get into a guild eventually but for the easier places is it hard to get parties for?

4. What are some things to take advantage of? Like leveling spots, certain quests and stuff like that. I'm going to miss this ice dungeon event where everyone's leveling like crazy atm, so don't say that please haha. I'm planning on making a hunter first (actually might have one in the low 80's already, I don't remember) since snipers are good for hunting anything I'd need, and I've always liked them.

5. I wasn't in many guilds here before, but I do know that guilds are where the fun lies in RO. That being said, are there a lot of guilds on the premium server that aren't super-hardcore-woe-fiends? I do enjoy occasionally woeing, but that's not really what I play for (and I don't have any trans characters or super good gears). I'd like to (if anyone's interested) join a guild that doesn't take woe too seriously, or wouldn't care if I didn't attend every single woe. One that does guild leveling/hunting parties often enough to where I wouldn't have to play by myself all of the time, because that's just boring. So uh, any cool guilds out there willing to take a bunch of "wtf is that for/does that do/how do I get to x" noobie questions?

And um, long post over. Hello, oldie coming back soon I guess. =]

Dual-clienting was made legal a long time ago. Just open the client with one RO account and then open the client again with another RO account. You cannot dual-client with characters on the same RO account.

There are very few bots on Ymir, but they can be gotten rid of MUCH more easily than those on Valkyrie. Simply take a screenshot of a suspected bot and submit a report ticket to WarpPortal Support with the screenshot. (By the way, you need to register a WP Support account if you want to track your tickets as a WP account doesn't generate a WP Support account.)

Renewal makes finding parties a LOT easier now, but the fix is long too late to change the solo mentality of a lot of veteran players. There are a number of guilds that do parties every now and then so seek those out if you wish to party.

Hard to say at this point since Renewal is changing quite a bit about the game in terms of leveling and stats. More questing has been added to the game so decent gear for lower levels is easier to acquire. Once you hit base level 11, something called the Eden Group (look for an elf NPC) gives out leveling quests to help players get to mid-levels.

However, since Renewal hasn't been implemented on Ymir yet, you can peruse the iRO Wiki to find good leveling spots and repeatable EXP quests to get you started. http://irowiki.org/wiki/Main_Page (You can also find some good info about Snipers there and in the Class Discussion section in the forums.)

There are a good number of non-WoE guilds in the Guild Hall. http://forums.warppo.../14-guild-hall/

Thanks for the swift reply. I'm glad they made dual clienting legal, haha, that was so lame before. Thanks again for the leveling tips as well, I'll look into those.
