Seems theres a slight oversight in having a novice running through 'mids level one to go get mushrooms outside.

Sure, but I remember this, as well, from kRO where I wanted to go safe and use the Job Changer.
This IS a huge problem for anyone who'll start as thief after the testing period. The Farmiliars are just to heavy for a novice.

Yea, I was told at first the job changer was missing, and decided that must have meant the the instant job change was in at the first classer npcs. Sadly mistaken. =p
Regardless, it's still a "bug" for when this goes live, like mentioned above. Even "obvious" problems should be mentioned in testing phases to be sure they're not overlooked.

Renewal (not just testing) is supposed to completely remove first job change quests so yeah, this should be fixed before it hit mains.

Even after the job changes are removed, you will still have to get to the thief guild in order to job change, so I'm not certain that fixes the issue. Well, if you do the training grounds it will probably warp you directly to the thief guild NPC so you don't have to worry, but perhaps a warper outside of the pyramids for novices wouldn't be a bad idea?

Familiars were hitting my little level six for 85 damage. She had about 60 HP at that time.
It's simply too much, just remove them for now and consider a permanent change for the future. The EXP distribution in the training grounds focuses more on job EXP, meaning many of us come out of there with a low base level. Having to attempt to get through the Pyramid is pretty much certain death. I went through a lot of my fly wings to finally make it down there... I had attempted to get my base level up a bit but realized the bats were still going to eat me regardless. So I had to make a mad dash... And sorry for leaving those two bats at the entrance... I see they got some people.
