One thing I think would help this rather frustrated community, is to have 3 lists:

1. Things kRO will actually listen to. (If that's "absolutely nothing" then so be it, but please don't take feedback if you know it's going straight to /dev/null.)

2. Things that can be changed, because iRO staff has the power to change it. We know you can tweak certain aspects of skills, for instance, but not exactly which. We know you can create things like TIs and Overlook, and new quests, but we don't know the limits, both in terms of what your toolkit can't do, and in terms of what kRO flat out won't allow. Etc. If we had a good idea of the limits, we'd be much more able to suggest things that are doable within those limits.

3. Things that aren't going to change unless kRO's community makes them change. There's no point in wasting time posting about this stuff if we can do nothing to fix it.

I think if we at least had a good working knowledge of what falls into each of these categories, we'd be able to aim feedback at fixing the game in ways that are actually possible. It's not an ideal situation, but at least it can lead to actual, concrete change - maybe even enough to get the population count going back up instead of slowly spiraling into oblivion.

I thought Oda had a list for this... Or was supposed to be writing one up.

Might as well use this topic to tell us whether any of the feedback forum suggestions have a chance of making it. :p_angel:

This already fails *I don't mean to be offensive*
but as long as we depend on kRO. As long as we have to tell them what we have to change. There is nothing more we can do at all.

if its anything local (turn-ins, events, etc) they can easily do something about. probably anything scriptable (npcs, quests, etc) they can fix. as for major changes to gameplay mechanics it definitely needs to come from kro.

Yeah, I remember hearing they were going to make the list at least for what they can do, but not necessarily the other half of this - what kRO is willing to do. It also doesn't appear that they ever actually did, unless it was a reply to some random thread months ago that's lost to the ages.

Does anyone think bumping this once every other day until someone notices it, would work?

Outside of the market threads, bumping is considered spamming as per the forum rules.

Bumping threads will not be tolerated. If no community posts have been applied to a topic then consider the topic dead. Any bumping or spamming of threads to keep the thread in active view will be considered a violation of the forum rules. This does not apply to Buy/Sell sections of the forums, a thread maybe bumped 1 time per every 12 hours in the Buy/Sell sections of the forums.

The thing that concerns me the most is the lack of new content/events for low-level players. Pretty clear message if you're a lowbie: you don't matter. Hurry up and get to trans.

I don't know about everyone else, but to me this is the only topic related to RO that has any meaning.
And its been like that for a very long time, with a small glimpse of false hope along it, every few months.

If kRO doesnt want any feedback they should have told us that years ago.

But making a new topic about the same thing every couple of weeks is okay?

I mean, really, Korea doesn't do sh t and everyone knows it, I don't see what the point in hiding it is. Either the GMs should provide a clear channel for reasonable and timely proposals (and remove all the ones that don't matter), or they should man up and just flat-out say they don't really want feedback imo. Stop with the piddling around.

It would be a great help if we knew what the iRO team can and cannot change, hopefully they can share this with us so we can help focus on things they can change/fix :Emo_21: or we can pray kRO hears our pleas and hope for the best

iRO should really get an upgrade to their contract or whatever, that would enable them to at least change around simple parts of skills like damage mods, cast times, SP costs, element, requirements...

But it will still be kRO that distributes new skills to classes.
a big issue is that they made a huge mess with 3rd classes. If defensive classes didn't get any defensive skills, but awesome buffs and spamable ranged attacks instead, no balancing patch will manage to turn them into defensive classes for example.

Really hope this isn't getting swept under a rug, if we know what you guys can and cannot change we can provide the feedback that is needed and stop wasting time on things that you can't fix/work on.

I think rather than new content the GMs are focusing on game stability. There's lots of new stuff recently; we don't need to be overloaded with new stuff to do when the game is going up and down. Not that this is a bad idea, it's great to have an idea of new things coming - keeps us interested - but we already have a huge list of stuff we know kRO has and we may sooooooooooon get. I think a lot of people just want the game running solid again

The game is pretty much overloaded with content even for the lowbie... i can attest to that...

i for one vie for stability and security first... then bug fix and balance fixing

Yeh content wise theres plenty of places.
They should pause all quest and story update based work for a year fix the mess theyve created, and come up with some endgame stuff.

Last couple of posts have gotten pretty distracted, thread is about making changes to the game in general, not proposal of new content specifically. I see changes as something done to pre-existing content, with new content only being introduced to supplement or facilitate the change. I mean, something has to exist in the first place in order for it to be changed.

If we even had any hints about anything...
Like, what kind of contact is there about this with kRO?

For all we know all they ever talked about regarding this might as well have been a two line conversation 2 years ago like this:
"our playerbase wants tons stuff to be changed for more balance"
"send us their feedback in a year, maybe we will check it if we're bored"

Is it any deeper than that? And more frequent than once per year?

The lack of any reply (not just here, but in the entire Renewal feedback forum, entire 14.1 feedback forum, and misc. threads like Heim's one about the level penalties) makes me assume the worst - that not only will kRO do nothing, but they've forbidden iRO from making new dungeons, modifying skills, or doing basically anything but TI events. If this is the case, they're basically just trying to stay alive as long as they can, desperately hoping they can get an RO2 server before they go bankrupt. Problem is, after watching kRO destroy iRO1, and knowing nothing will change in the business relationship between the Gravities, who is going to want to try RO2, knowing it will meet the same fate, and much, much faster. After all, unlike RO1 (released in a very tiny MMO market with basically only UO and EQ to compete with) this one will get buried alive by the dozens of active MMOs - anything released in a Western market that fails to at all adapt to one will last a year, tops.
