When you equip a job manual, the skills can only be used if you switch your skill list to list view instead of tree. Vets know this of course because all skill-granting items work like that. Newbies are going to thing the manuals aren't working though. I strongly recommend having the NPCs tell you how to use the manual's skills.

Here we all were, experienced players, going through the new player training, and couldn't find the skills the npc gave you... I had the same issue and fumbled around for like 10 minutes.
What do you reckon the chance of a new player figuring that out is?
THIS IS A PROBLEM!
At worst, the NPCs should at least explain it to you. Ideally, the client shouldn't hide the goddamned item-derived skills when you're in the DEFAULT view!

Perhaps the list view should be made the default.
