yes, anything more than 2.7k isn't really needed as long as you have enough HP

I think the 80% cap is at 3400 for a L85 attacker now, can't remember if that's just for crits tho. CBA to look it up, lost interest

I'm only 65, and have over 3k def with nothing more then +5, and some +0 gear. So lvling my skills is pointless? Getting more def on gear is pointless?

only def buff my prot really uses is the spiritual intense skill lvl 9 and DNA'd with that and survival instinct I have like 5k def and the def does help but the block skills are more affective over all.

Defence now is more needed when tanking large number of mobs. Having more defence really helps in ST when surrounded by large number of mobs.

Its been explain many times, theres no hard cap, but the dmg reduced becomes very low after so it becomes more usefull to invest in other stats.

What dess said. The def helps but its less then before the soft cap.
