The event page details:

With the Maintenance on 2/14 we are adding an NPC to Lighthalzen outside the Geneticist job change area. This will help alchemist class characters that have pre-renewal homunculii. These pre-renewal homunculi have significantly lower stat values than ones created more recently.

She asks those with a homunculus if they want to reset, if they agree and type in the code it sets

Player is then asked to delete their Homunculus and talk to NPC again. NPC tells them to get a Homunculus they like and level it, on 21st we will set all Homun owned by characters with the proper variable or higher to just a little south of loyal.

Someone posted that they thought this somehow meant only Homunculi over a certain level would gain the near-loyal status upgrade. I don't really see this specification in the event page details, nor is it mentioned by the NPC who performs the reset registration.

Is there any truth to this, or can I continue to leave my second and third alchs' homuncs at level 1 and focus on my main's?

I would also like to know the answer to this, as there is no clear info other than the npc saying to level up your homunculus.

"by characters with the proper variable or higher" I'm pretty sure they won't make it to where the homun have to be a certain level. The "variable" must have something to do with the player.

Maybe they just mean people that have accepted the reset and are on the list.

That's what I was hoping, but it seems like a weird enough way to express that idea that it warranted inquiry...

So... yeah, any word on this? Maint's in about 8.5 hours and my first homunc is 12% or so from 99, so I won't have time to level the other two much (took a break yesterday to level #2 to level 10, #3 is still level 1, will be trying to level later, schedule allowing)...

This is correct: We only mentioned to level them so you weren't waiting around for us. Once you have your basic Homunculus you want you are open to level it up, it won't harm our process.

The NPC doesn't really care what your homunculus is during maintenance, we (the IT team) will be setting all the Homunculus which are owned by a 'chemist that did the reset to loyal. If the chemist didn't level or didn't get a new homunculus then the loyalty setting won't work. But there will be level 1 evolved homunculus I'm sure. That is intended.

If you didn't do your resetting this week don't worry you still have time to get the full value from it, you'll be getting set to loyal 2 more times (28th and 6th). We are taking care of the evolution cost if you return to the NPC after you have got them loyal.
