Okay, I'm not sure if this is in the right area or not, so if it is not, please move it to an area that is acceptable. Sorry in advance!

Before I go on with the specific topic, I will first state a few things I have noticed on the Renewal server in regards to changing to 3rd classes. Some of these things are obvious and you may know them already and if so, please bear with me for those who don't.

-You can change at either 99 non-trans or 99 trans. As a trans class, you do NOT need to be job 70 to change, though it is recommended you do.
-All class changes (With some exceptions mentioned below) can be made at the Valkyrie in between mid kafra and south kafra in Prontera. She should be pretty obvious. To trans, you need to have all equipment off and at 0 weight. You also MUST HAVE 0 ZENY. ZERO. Deal it to someone trustworthy or use it all. Again, this is to transcend only.
-If you decide to do an instant job change at the Valkyrie, you will not, I REPEAT, will NOT get any other reward usually given to you at job change. This INCLUDES the special headgear you get going to 3rd class. Instant class change, no headgear. Soooooo...
-In order to get the 3rd class specific headgear, you need to do the 3rd class quest. These headgears are storagable, not tradable, and I highly doubt they can be worn by any other class then the one intended.
-*IMPORTANT*3-2 Classes for some reason can NOT do the instant job change at the Valkyrie. Whether this is a glitch or a bug, I haven't the foggiest, but the Valkyrie will tell you 'you're not ready'. If you're aiming to go 3-2 class, you will need to do the quest. This is until further notice.

TO FIND YOUR 3rd JOB LOCATION :

Warlock - Morroc 8 o'clock direction near the destroyed wall, and Splendide northwest environment near the purifier.
Arch Bishop - Prontera Sanctuary
Ranger - Turtle Island
Mechanic - Juno Center Plaza
Rune Knight - Prontera Pub
Guillotine Cross - Morroc Secret Bar

Royal Guard: Prontera Castle
Shadow Chaser: Rogue Guild
Sura: Veins Pub
Minstrel: Alberta (1 o' clock direction)
Wanderer: Lutie (12 o' clock direction)
Genetic: Alchemist Guild
Sorcerer: Geffen Tower

And for a rough four picture 'guide', you can refer to kRO. To my knowledge (And I've looked pretty heavily), there is no 'guide' on where to go and what to do for 3rd job changing quests. In the link below, just click on your 3rd class of choice (May take you a few tries until you get yours unless you can translate.) and there should be some pictures that may aid you.

And for the topic!

Since I have not seen any Royal Guards on Ygg, I wanted to be the first one (Though another paladin, Sora, 99ed his paladin before me, I still hit RG first since he was smart and went to sleep). Unfortunately, being the first one, I had to go to the trouble to try and decipher the extremely bad translating and lack of forwarding on some of the quests. So for all of you wannabe RGs out there, I suggest following this:

What you will need: 100 Burning Hearts, About 15k zeny total to warp to and from GH and Magma dungeon/Thors Volcano

1. You will start in Prontera castle. The man you are looking for is the NPC next to the Crusader job change NPC. You will be REQUIRED to dismount off your peco EVERY time you talk to him (You can go back and get it again after, but it can be costly). Go through his questions until he gives you an assignment to collect 100 burning hearts.
2. There are two ways to collect these and it should only take you about 45 minutes tops soloing. The first and most dangerous way is going to Magma Dungeon. The first floor is littered with monsters that drop burning hearts. The highest drop rate comes from Blazzers, so try to take out those Lave Golem's minions before you finish the golem itself for max efficiency. It can be a bit mobby in there though, so take potions and fly wings with you.
The second way is easier and only requires you to go to Thors dungeon and kill Magmarings. You can get to Thors easily if you head to Izlude, take the airship to Rachael, and walk from there. The drop rate for burning hearts is lower, but with little aggressive monsters around to intercept you, you should be golden.
3. After collecting the hearts, head back to the NPC and turn them in for a new quest. He requires you to go to Glast Heim to search for 'traces'.
4. Warp to Geffen, walk to GH. The quest guide SAYS it's in Castle. No, it is in the Abbey, so go in the southern most portal and walk in. As you enter, keep moving forward until you come to the pedestal. Before you reach it, you'll see a light. Initiate the conversation from the text on the ground around you and you'll soon see X's on your map.
5. Your task now is to check each and every spot the X leads you to until you find a piece of cloth. You'll know it when you see it. If you get stones or if the text says something is collapsing around you or whatever, ignore it and move on. Once you get the cloth, warp back to Prontera and return to the NPC. He will give you a 'Shild of King' (And yes, I spelled it according to how it is in game.).
6. Now this part baffled me for some time as there seemed to be no continuation with the quest at all. You need to head BACK to Glast Heim and up to the castle. Do not enter. Instead, follow the river to the right and around. It should lead you 'behind' the castle. It'll be where the river ends and what you're looking for can be hard to miss.
7. Look around the shrubbery for the last 'trace'. After the dialogue, you will be a Royal Guard. Grats.

Any questions, post here!

This isn't a bug thread or a 'testing' thread, but instead a guide for those who may need it. It's not just for Royal Guard either as there is some basic info in there as well.

Besides, It'd get sooooo lost in that sub forum and people may need this. Sorry for the inconvenience though.

I'm not smart, I was just hella tired, tried to be the first 99 trans. I'm pretty sure I was.
I'd have to give you credit for being awesome and spending endless hours doing the most annoying thing and succeeding.

If anyone needs I can put up a simple Arch Bishop/Mechanic guide or something. From what I see as long as you find the starting NPC then the rest is pretty easy ('cept maybe the battle part and/or the quest itself being annoying).
