RO should get a new patcher client that:
- Reconnect to get the patch if for some reason you fail to download it.
- You don't have to redownload all patches again if it stops patching or there's some error.
- Check if the patch you downloaded is ok and not corrupt. Perhaps some CRC or MD5 check.
- Doesn't have memory problems and crashes when you patch 1 year of patches.
- Request higher privileges in Vista/7 if for some reason it can't work in current user environment.

Of course you can add more advanced features, like p2p download, link to setup program, server status checker etc, but I think the above features can fix lots of issues with patching.
